TESCO VALUE BREAD
"Without bread all is misery." The author of this quote (William Cobbitt) had obviously not sampled Tesco's Value bread!!! The Oldchem household is like the Bermuda Triangle when it comes to bread. Any bread coming close to us seems to disappear unexplainably within seconds. We can be running along quite nicely, and there be plenty of bread in the breadbin, then my son will come in from school, drop his school bag in the ... ...the word very loosely) of Tesco Value Medium Bread. Now what I can't understand is that when, on the few occasions I dare to, send Mr Oldchem shopping, he NEVER looks at prices and usually ends up buying the most expensive of everything, but he was very proud of himself for purchasing a loaf for 47p!! So what did I think of his purchase? As there may be children reading this review, I will choose my words carefully!! THE PACKAGE
A plastic ...

Tesco Tiger Bread: Delicious rice paste & sesame oil bread.
Advantages: Delicious taste, lovely medium crunchy crust, soft white centre. Disadvantages: None.
...baked and I think that Tesco is one of the best stores for this bread. It seems to have become more and more popular recently as Tesco regularly advertise it as a 'weekend loaf' for £1.00 but the standard price is £1.10. The bread is baked fresh in the Tesco in store bakery and if you visit at the right time (lunchtime or first thing) you can frequently find bread that is still warm. The bread is delicious and has quite a unique smell and taste to ... ...these are fairly regular in Tesco stores or at tesco.co.uk. If you haven't tried this bread before then what are you waiting for? It's delicious as a sandwich or toast and it's delicious when toasted and spread with butter & Marmite. It really is the ultimate lunchtime bread and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have tried loaves from other stores such as Asda & Greggs and while these are very nice too I do actually prefer the Tesco one as it's just that ...

Asda Tiger bread yummmmm
Advantages: Freshly cooked in store Disadvantages: Goes stale quite quickly
Asda's Tiger Bread is absolutly delicious. It's freshly made in store and at 67p for a 400g loaf and £1 for an 800g loaf the price is perfect. You can also get these loaves sliced in store free and they do the medium and thick slices. I would definatly recommend you get it sliced in store because this bread is so fresh it just squashes when you try cutting it yourself at home. It's got a lovley taste to it, im not sure whatt it is but it tastes totally ... ...quite crusty and looks a bit like tiger print hence the name then I suppose..... Then inside the crust you have the most delicious soft white bread. It's great for sandwiches and holds together pretty well. It's also nice as a side to soups and it makes lovely toast, the butter just melts in making it utterly divine. I have noticed that the smaller loaf of the Tiger bread has been on offer recently down to just 50p a loaf, well worth it. You can ...

*WARBURTON'S FARMHOUSE SOFT WHITE LOAF*
I'm in danger of sounding like my poor old mum now, but hasn't bread gone flippin' dear !!!! I've tried so called 'value' bread but it always ends up getting given to the ducks, it feels stale when I first buy it, so that is false economy. As we get through more than one loaf a day ( more if the hungry ducks have their way!!) I do try to find as reasonable priced bread as I can. While shopping in my local ... ...White thick sliced loaves for £1 a loaf. Which with today's prices is pretty good!! I bought two loaves, The loaves have just been kept in my bread bin and were bought on Saturday. I have just used the last two slices and they were still very fresh ( it is now Tuesday morning and my kitchen has been mighty hot over the last three days!!) The loaf was bought on 30th May, had a sell by date of 2nd June and a use by date of 4th June. The loaf is a 800g ...

Bergen's delicious soya and linseed bread
Advantages: Delicious and great tasting Disadvantages: None
I came across Burgen Soya and Linseed bread in the supermarket. From the outside it looked very different to other breads and it also looked very appealing.
I think it was the fact that it was made with soya and linseed oil that caught my attention as I had recently been reading about the health benefits of linseed oil for women who were experiencing the menopause and its associated symptoms.
I decided to buy one and I am so glad I did. It is an ... ...and great tasting natural grains. It is also very moist.
I particulary like to make a sandwich with it packed with bananas! It is really scrumptious..... Indeed, it is tasty enough to eat without any filling or spread at all... The bread is very rich in calcium and very high in fibre. It is also a low-GI bread. As a result you feel fuller for longer and are less likely to snack. .
Low GI foods help to sustain steady blood sugar levels through slow ...
