Review of Kingsmill Crusts Away Bread

A perfect loaf???

Advantages: Tasty, Thick Slices, Soft
Disadvantages: None

...picked up a loaf of Kingsmill Square Thick Sliced. I wasn't really too concerned with the nutritional value, but it doesnt look that much different to any other loaf of bread. Depending on when you buy the loaf, it usually has quite a long shelf life (sometimes upto 7 days) which is pretty amazing, especially when you try that last piece in the packet on the last day its in date. It still tastes good, although its drier than the other pieces it ...
...when I open the packet, the bread is so soft I can usually wolf down 2 pieces on their own. This is a sign of a good loaf. The bread doesn't break up when you spread olive spread on it which I find is the problem with many loaves. The crusts aren't too tough which is good when your trying to eat a soft, tasty ham sandwich. As for toast, I personally wouldn't waste such brilliant bread by putting it in the toaster, as I find nearly all bread tastes ...

Head start bread

Advantages: Good source of omega 3
Disadvantages: none

...weekly shop I found this Kingsmill head start bread with Omega 3. As you may know I have a dodgy ticker and would like to look after it as best I can so I bought this bread for 59p a loaf, what a bargain, I'm not sure what the real price will be. Packaging The bread comes in a purple bag with the Kingsmill logo on the side, top and bottom, it has Head start in big yellow writing just underneath and Omega 3 in light blue under that. There is a ...
...you peel apart to get into your bread. Smell Once opened you can smell the bread straight away, it doesn't smell like lovely freshly baked bread, but I would say it smells better than some other pre sliced stuff. I can't really describe the smell of bread but you will have to take my word that it is good. Taste and texture Yep tastes good, I usually just eat bread as toast but on this occasion I had it plain with just a small amount of flora ...

Review of Kingsmill Head Start

The freshest, yummiest packaged loaf around .

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

Kingsmill Great Everyday White is the bread I buy most often . Costing a pound per 800g loaf from Asda, it is available in medium or thick sliced - I tend to go for the thick slices, as I do like quite chunky sandwiches and toast, and find medium sliced bread just not big enough! The packaging is plastic, with bright blue and yellow on it and Great Everyday written on it in big white letters . The Kingsmill logo is also clearly visible, and the bread ...
...end telling you the best before date . I do find the plastic around this loaf a little flimsy . Normally, this wouldn't be a problem - except for the time I let my daughter carry it home from the shop. She was walking a little behind me, and I didn't realise til I got home she'd been dragging the loaf behind her, leaving a trail of shredded plastic and breadcrumbs . I did think of making her do a Hansel and Gretel to follow the trail back and get ...

Review of Kingsmill Great Everyday Bread

Fresher for longer

Advantages: It lasts longer
Disadvantages: It's a bit dry

...we decided to try the Kingsmill long life bread... ** The packaging ** The bread comes in a silver foil type wrapper with a greeny blue 'banner' at the bottom with the name and weight of the bread. The packaging is sealed at one end with a yellow sticky tie. This tie also has the date the bread has to be used by which is obviously a later date than any of the other kingsmill breads because it's long life! The foil wrapper helps the bread last longer ...
...any different to the other Kingsmill white breads. It has a savoury taste and crumbles in your mouth. The only difference i have noticed between this long life bread and other breads is the texture. Normally, Kingsmill breads are soft, squidgy and very light. This is more-or-less the same with the long life but its a bit less 'squidgier' and bit drier - this doesn't make a difference if you use the bread for sandwiches but i've noticed when the bread ...
