Works pretty well
Advantages: Good footprint, nice looking Disadvantages: Packaging was a bit fiddly
I've had the device now for a few weeks, and in fairness it is very good. Id recommend it to anyone wanting to make their own, but make sure you are going to keep using it as so often breadmakers can be white elephants. It's easy to clean, both inside and out, with no hard to reach nooks or crannies. Ive made several types of bread in it now, white and brown, and also with seeds, nuts and fruit. It's far better than the deLonghi one (did I spell ...

panasonic sd 254 is better than the bakers, easy to use good size
Advantages: slim line size, very easy to clean and quick bake is great Disadvantages: tin does get very hot and can be tricky not to burn your fingers
We borrowed a freiens panasonic breadmaker and didnt want to give it back so went out and bought one ourselves. Makes delicious bread almost every time. Super easy instructions in the booklet and lots of different recipes to try. You do however have to be spot on with measurements of ingredients the smallest amount over or under makes a big differenc. Loaf size is good but you do have the option of medium large or extra large we only ever use XL ... ...people that have had a panasonic bread maker and theirs have lasted a few years and are still going now.

I LOVE the smell of freshly baked bread
Advantages: Easy to use and variety of uses is good Disadvantages: You may need to adjust ingredients
~The Appliance itself~ This Morphy Richards Bread maker is a bit larger than I expected, but rough measurements are 33cm (height) x 29 cm (deep) x 35cm (wide). It's light enough for me to get it out of the box but too heavy for me to constantly lug around. Therefore I have picked a spot on my kitchen counter where it will stay. It is brushed stainless steel and has a viewing window which is a good size where you can check the progress of your loaf. ... ...control panel is. It is possibly the easiest type of controls that I have seen on this type of machine. It has a simple number sequence that specifies which number is for which type of bread. Then you select the loaf size (choice of three sizes, 1Ib, 1.5Ib and 2Ib) and then you choose the colour of the crust, light, medium or dark. In addition to these buttons there is a start and stop button. However, although the controls are easy to operate I ...

Would Ken like this recipe?
Advantages: It works. Disadvantages: The warning beeps are excruciatingly loud.
...I don’t see why Kenwood thought it was necessary to inflict such a volume on people’s ears. The Conclusion?Perfection! It not only worked, but it made a loaf twice the size of my old one from the same amount of mix! Result! This may not be much of a product review; it works and that’s all I want it to do. It has the ability to switch itself on in the middle of the night to produce fresh bread for breakfast, but I expect all breadmakers would ... ...for it to knead for me, like when I make chapattis and am too lazy to use my muscles, or pizza dough, which works very well. It also makes cake, and even jam. So you could say that our gamble paid off and we ended up with a machine which is perfect for us. Also, life is a lot more peaceful around here than it used to be, but that could be because the entire household is stone deaf. And now for:The Recipe. This is for a slightly off-white loaf ...

A good breadmaker if you don't get a faulty one
Advantages: Lovely bread, even on the 58 minute cooking setting; the best looking breadmaker around Disadvantages: Very large unit; chunky plug, Kenwood don't seem to check their products thoroughly
...am now onto my 3rd Kenwood BM450 in the space of 2 weeks. I bought my first one just before xmas at Currys - and was more than happy with it the first time I cooked. But the second time I used it the bulb blew (the BM450 has a light feature to allow you to see the bread cooking). It says in the instruction manual that you must take it to a Kenwood specialist to replace the bulb.
As it had happened so soon after purchase, I took my breadmaker back ... ...this model (still the BM450) had a much larger plug. The first one had a normal English 3 pin plug on it, but this time it looked like an adaptor had been fitted to a European two pin plug. It had two further problems - firstly the kneader was too loose and came off within the bread I had just cooked, and secondly it made a horrendously loud noise similar to a steam train going through a tunnel whilst kneading. I returned my second BM450, and am ...
