Yummy yummy bread in my tummy
Review of Morphy Richards 48280 by Soundygirly

Advantages: Simple to use controls
Disadvantages: Can be tempremental

Home made bread at the touch of a button? Not quite. Whilst the smell of home made bread is irresistable to most everyone, this machine has a few drawbacks. If you follow the recipes in the book to the letter, you will end up with an over-risen over-sweet dough. My advice, leave the sugar out. It'll taste much more like "normal" bread, and is really only there as insurance. Be careful not to scratch the paddle or slice through it as it tends to stay ...
...make sure also, that the pan is cleaned thoroughly and isn't left to soak or the paddle sticks and won't go round. With a little bit of persuasion you can get it moving again. I have made good use of my machine for about 4 years, but the seal on the bottom of the pan has finally given up the ghost. It is simple to use, and there are several quite nice recipes in the book. With a bit of practice you'll have nice bread whenever you need it. ... Read review

Bake me some bread as fast as you can
Review of Morphy Richards 48245 by historywitch

Advantages: Small, cheap, easy to use, creates bread and dough with no hassle
Disadvantages: Few little niggly problems.

...we ended up purchasing this Morphy Richards Compact Breadmaker and so far we are pretty pleased with it. When pulled out to the requisite few centimetres away from the wall, the worktop space it takes up is about 35cm x 30cm. This small size means it fits in nicely in the dead space between my microwave and kettle with sufficient space to still be able to prepare food. *****Machine Layout******** The display panel is located on the top of the ...
...and browning level. It is reasonably well set out, but the screen’s location can mean those of a shorter stature (like my mum!) may struggle to see what they have selected. The panel also does not light up and as it is placed in the darkest corner of my kitchen I often have to pull the machine out or tilt it a little towards to light in order to check that I have chosen the correct setting. Underneath the panel are the two Time buttons with up and ... Read review

Drop down dough hook problems.
Review of Morphy Richards 48268 by doughhook

Advantages: None over other machines.
Disadvantages: Larger holes after removing hook

We have been using breadmaking machines for 10 years. Needing a replacement machine we liked the idea of a drop down dough hook, which hopefully would alleviate the one problem with these machines, the hole in the bottom of the loaf. However, after two weeks of use, about 6 loaves, I would regard this feature as a total failure. The hook is a loose fit on the drive spindle, and the hook has so far been well impregnated in the loaf on every occasion, ... Read review

As good as it can get
Review of Panasonic SD206 Breadmaker by jyo76

Advantages: Ease of use, cleaning and make good bread time after time
Disadvantages: Takes a while

Excellent Product! Like most Panasonic products the bread maker is well made and serves its purpose well. It can be easily operates with a simple menu and clear instructions are provided. There not much to do , you just put in the ingredients (follow the recipe book ) choose the programme and wait. It is a long wait 3-4 hrs but worth it. Apart from the various types of breads you can also make pizza dough and bake cakes. The bread may not be cheaper ... Read review

PANASONIC SD253 BREADMAKER
Review of Panasonic SD253 by gandry

Advantages: EASY TO USE, STURDY MACHINE
Disadvantages: NO DISADVANTAGES FOUND YET

Having had the Panasonic SD53 for 18 months after recommendation from a friend we are very satisfied after having had a cheaper brand giving generally unsatisfactory results. Have had the occasional 'misfire' which can be put down to operator error- ie forgetting to put the paddle in!! but having realised the mistake and putting it in, all was well. Even after a short power cut the loaf has continued to bake ok. Ours is used every other day normally ... Read review
