King Of Crumpets
Advantages: Light, low fat, perfect breakfast/snack, good price, warm & tasty! Disadvantages: None
...too soggy or greasy, then Warburtons are the way to go. They're good value for money and because it's such a popular brand they're available in most supermarkets so go grab yourself a crumpet and a cuppa tea and enjoy! =] [Also reviewed by me, Cazkins, on DooYoo] ...

PLEASE DO NOT READ - WRONG PLACE? EVERY1 CRITICAL :-(
Advantages: Versatile, low in fat and calories; lovely texture Disadvantages: Nothing really
...in the wrong category because Tesco Crumpets will be analysed. I thought I'd cross reference the analysis with reviews of other brands of crumpets so that you can have a comprehensive purchase decision plus, a crumpet crave!
As you may know from some of my comments in pther reviews I am a complete bread addict; honestly folks, carbs do not make you fat; I'm skinny. I eat bread by the loaf, tearing chunks off, nibbling, baguettes; it's what you put ... ...are plesant enough though.
Tesco Crumpets (8)
*50p - Best value of the bunch
*Per 46g crumpet: 93kcal, 0.3g of fat and 1.2g of salt
* Light golden colour
*Quite firm to touch
*Packaged in plastic beg
- These were nice but lack the nice squiginess. They were quite firm but had plenty of holes on top to absorb the topping. However, most of these seemed to sink andend up on the plate.
Motherspride Crumpets (8)
*59p
*Per 48g crumpet: 90kcal, ...

Munch Mallows Re-incarnated
Advantages: Light and not to fattening I hope Disadvantages: You want to eat them all in one go
...I happened to be in Marks and Spencer's the other day and noticed they were selling teacakes at a reduced price. £1.69 reduced to 99p. I thought I would give them a try and was not disappointed.
The Teacakes come in a dark blue wrapper with a picture of the Teacakes on the front. Inside is two plastic trays containing two rows of eight teacakes. The teacakes are also individually wrapped in a lovely purple foil paper with the M & S name on the top ... ...measure 2" in diameter.
I remember how I used to eat my Munch Mallows when I was a kid. Firstly, I would pick off the chocolate, eat the fluffy but firm mallow then bite into the soft but crunchy biscuit.
The M & S teacakes tasted exactly the same and if I didn't know better I could have sworn that they were Marshalls Munch Mallows.
INGREDIENTS............................
Milk Chocolate (40%)
Glucose Syrup
Wheatflour
Water
Sugar

Buns of glory!
Advantages: Delicious, sweet, a good pick-me-up, cost Disadvantages: nutrition or lack of, sticky fingers
...I was found roaming around Asda (again!?) looking out for anything that could tempt me. As soon as I hit the bread and bakery aisle something caught my eye and I rushed back to through into our trolley. (I didn't actually throw these in as the damage would have been fatal).
I remember iced buns from when I was very little. I used to devour 3 or 4 in sitting, totally oblivious to the calorie and sugar content it had contained. I also used to be a ... ...made doughnuts and cookies. In Asda they are selling at the moment for £0.60p for 5 fingers. This works out at 12p a bun- definitly a good price!!
The packaging was very plain, the design being very minimal to say the least. The 5 iced fingers sat on a plastic tray, each bun with its own little compartment. This was a good idea as I can imagine if it wasn't there the buns would have rattled around resulting in an un-iced bun. The plastic tray, and ...

I'm Muffin Mad!
Advantages: Tasty Disadvantages: Good for you
...as far as I know, Tesco are the only supermarket to stock them. A 6 pack of Wholemeal English Muffins from Tesco currently costs 75p, which seems fairly reasonable at first until you discover that 6 'white' English muffins will only cost 53p! But money's not everything and I am willing to pay the extra.
* THE ENGLISH MUFFIN: A PROPER DESCRIPTION! *
English muffins are made from a yeast dough which contains milk and butter. They should be about ... ...Well...what can I say? Tesco Wholemeal English Muffins are absolutely scrumptious - not just for breakfast, but for any time of day! I highly recommend them as an alternative to toast or crumpets and for the fact they are nutritionally good for you (if eaten without butter, anyway!) Go on, try them for yourselves...You won't be disappointed. ...
