A very pleasurable, efficient experience
Advantages: user friendly Disadvantages: none
...bad), so i did. The AA and RAC were the 2 frontrunners. Both offering a very similar range of packages. But as i use Quidco cashback site, the AA cashback was higher, and so i went to look into them at greater detail. I did this all online as i am a bit of WWW addict and so all this was down over the AA.com website. The website is very user friendly and so i was off and running straight away. Some sites you can be looking about for 10-20 minutes ... ...and conditions booklet, and the AA handbook. A well presented package which supplies everything you need to know straight-off. The total cost of my package was around £114 and i managed to get £50 cashback from Quidco. Overall i found the whole transaction and purchase very user friendly and found their communication to be very helpful and informative. I would seriously recommend this service to anyone looking for breakdown cover, especially if getting ...

Stakes and Madders
Advantages: Home Jeeves! Disadvantages: To the Orange Van!
...break down, a woman rings RAC on her Mobile, and they’re rescued in about an hour and home for supper. No-one got wet.
Becoming a member of the RAC is joyously easy. Go over to www.rac.co.uk, or simply stop at any motorway service station, day or night, and speak to the man outside. Not the one smoking. The one with the clipboard in orange.
The most challenging thing about the membership is deciding what sort of member you want to be. There are ... ...the commotion. The RAC has been around forever. They’ve been around for longer than cars have, starting as they did in the late 19th century, and with uniformed patrols since 1912.
By my own unfounded but potentially accurate calculations, there were probably 6 people with cars in 1912, so they mustn’t have been too busy back then but even in today’s car blanched society, the longest I’ve had to wait was 3 hours.
3 hours sounds terrible but at ...

Tell them if you change your car or pay £45 for a callout
Advantages: I do not use Green Flag anymore and will never do so again Disadvantages: Hidesa fundamental policy requirement in the small print
Green Flag provides a summary of what it thinks are the main points you need to know about the policy but hides in the small print that you are not covered if you change your vehicle. A month or so after changing my car I broke down and found that as I had not informed Green Flag of the vehicle change they wanted £45 for the call out. I had to talk to several different people and pay money over the phone before they would send someone out to help ... ...and phone calls to get an answer. I will never use Green Flag again. In my view I would be forgiven for inferring that Green flag deliberately keep this policy requirement hidden in small print to increase revenue from people at a time when they most need help. ...

Autonational Rescue
Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Bad customer care. All callouts seem to take 1+ hours.
...recently had cause to use Autonational Rescue. I had a blow-out on the A10. The tyre spanner gave out and I had to call them out. 5 minutes later, the Police arrived and informed me that I would have to be towed (for a charge of £105). I recalled Autonational, and had a short conversation with an unhelpful lady who told me it could take upto an hour, but then said the truck was 5 minutes away. 15 minutes later, the truck driver called and asked where ...

Slow response times
Advantages: price Disadvantages: do not bother to check that their contractors can really attend in times they give
Joined Brittania through CSMA as price was good. Used them twice in 2 years and each time they took 2 hours to arrive. Both breakdowns were in populated areas which were easy to get to and neither were in peak breakdown periods. Problem seems to be that they use contractors who basically will lie about how quick they can get there so they get the job. each time I was told help would arrive within the hour, but Brittania don't check with customer ... ...them twice each time. They subsequently sent me a satisfaction form to complete but failed to respond in any way to my comments regarding service. I did not renew for a third year as I see no point in saving a few pounds if they are so poor when you actually need them ...
