Avent Breast Pads
Advantages: Saves money over disposables Disadvantages: Bulky
...bought a pack of 6 Avent pads at Boots for £4.99. They are made of a soft material with a waterproof backing & have a lacy side which aswell as looking a bit more feminine serves the purpose of 'gripping' the inside of your bra to make them more secure. They come with a small net in which to wash them so that they don't get lost among your laundry (vital if you don't want one whizzing out your sleeve in public when you take your freshly washed cardigan ... ...there's no telling how much money I've saved. Since they are not tapered at the edges, nor do they have indentations for your nipples, they are bulkier than disposables, so invest in a padded nursing bra, otherwise they'll be seen from space! They do soften & subsequently mould easier after washing the first time. I always wash mine in non bio detergent when washing baby's clothes, just to be sure that they don't cause any irritation to my skin. ...

Expensive but can be worth it depending on your leakiness!
Advantages: Very, very absorbent. Quite discreet (for a breast pad) Disadvantages: Quite expensive and difficult to find
These are great - I had big problems with leakiness at night and these were by far the most absorbent pads I tried - they seem to have a sort of gel layer in the middle, a bit like nappies. They are thin and shaped, so quite discreet. They are quite expensive and can be difficult to obtain compared to other brands but they are worth it if you do leak a lot. I economised by using these at night and another brand during the day. They're individually ...

kushies washable breast pads
Advantages: absorbant, reusable Disadvantages: none
...pack! I bought the Kushies washable breast pads - not becuase they were different or anything but just becuse I was placing an online order from one of the baby stuff .suppliers and these are the ones that were on sale here - so it was pure laziness that made me buy this particular brand!
They are slightly bigger than the washable pads made by avent and are gently contoured to fit around the breast better. Therefore they do not show as much under ... ...ones do.
They are made from 100% cotton and lovely and soft. They are quite thick so they are very absorbant. - I have never had a leak with these. They are very comortable.
They are washable in the machine - I just bung them in with my other washing and therfore saving money on buying disposable ones.
They cost £4.99 for 6 (3 pairs) I would suggest getting a couple of packs so that you don't have to wash them as often.
Overall good value for ...

No milky marks
Advantages: Prevent leaks Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...an hour or so. The Avent breast pads are quite expensive-£3.99 for a box of 40, which is the only size they do. I have found that as I am on the smaller size in the breast department, I find that the breast pads are a good size, though if you are larger you may find them a bit small. There is also a handy sticker on the side that goes against your bra, to keep it in place.
A god thing about Avent is the fact that they normally package the pads in ...

Breast Pads for your breasts not your bra!
Advantages: Don't show under clothing, reusable, easy to clean Disadvantages: Difficult to put on, not very sticky, not very discreet to use in public
...where I first heard about Lilypadz breast pads, but I can remember thinking they were an amazing invention and looking for reviews of them online. All of the reviews that I came across seemed to be American, presumably because this is an American product, and all raved about Lilypadz so eventually I caved in and bought a set of two online. For those of you who haven't heard of them, Lilypadz are a type of reusable breast pad. Unlike the traditional ... ...reusable and made from fabric, Lilypadz are made from silicone. They are promoted as being soft and flexible (despite being made out of plastic) and they are actually supposed to stick to your body, rather than to your bra. The blurb says that they apply gentle pressure to your nipple which stops them leaking milk when they aren't supposed to, whereas traditional breast pads just work by soaking up any leaks, rather than preventing them. I was quite ...
