avent electric breast pump

Advantages: easy and gentle to use
Disadvantages: none

...been out and bought the avent pump with an £89.00 price tag. This I thought was expensive but was in hind site well worth it. Its easy to use and not harmful to the nipple like some. I have used it for 3 months and do not know what I would of done without it, it definately played a part in me breast feeding for longer. Be careful buying cheaper models as you really do pay for what you get and that is really important as once you get sore it is hard ...

This made long-term expressing possible for me

Advantages: fantastic pump, comfortable, not noisy, well-built, interchangable with all other Avent products, amazing customer service
Disadvantages: Not at all cheap, heavier than other pumps

...Lactaline. I far prefer the Avent electric pump. It's efficent, and not too noisy to use. You can use it singly or doubly with very little effort to change between them. The pumps are fitted with plastic cushions that make it far more comfortable to use than the Ameda. To use it, you can entirely chose how intense and how fast you want the pumping action to be. The handle on the main bottle has a lever, and you move this up and down at the desired ...
...One advantage of the Avent system is that all the bottles, pumps, teats etc all fit each other. We had some Avent bottles anyway, and they could be used seamlessly. In my case, the "brain" as Avent calls the base unit, malfunctioned after a fortnight. I rang Avent, and they replaced the whole unit by express delivery. It arrived the next day, and the customer support people were extremely helpful and efficent. The bottles, pumps, and base unit are ...

Great for breastmilk, weaning and beyond!

Advantages: reuseable and not too expensive
Disadvantages: it's sometimes hard to put the lid on.

...is an adapter for the Avent manual breast pump. I found this brilleint because I could put the pot directly onto the pump and express right into it. You can also attach a normal bottle top to the adapter and feed your baby straight from the container without having to swap things around. I found this very useful because on a few occasions I have poured some milk into an actual bottle and spilt aload of it everywhere. I also used them as weaning pots ...

The Swing swung me.

Advantages: Portable, fast, easy to assemble
Disadvantages: The noise

...an electric one. Medela was recommended to me by a midwife and after using the comparison table on their website I opted for the Swing. Electric pumps are up to four times more expensive than manual ones but they are designed to be easier and faster to use. What's the cost? Prices vary from as low as £59 to £92 but the average is around £82 What do you get? Swing pump with built in belt clip One size fits all breast shield. (Other shields are ...
...and away you go. Medela use a two phase pumping action to enable to you get more out in less time. The first phase is the stimulation mode which mimics your baby's initial quick sucking to get your milk flowing. The second phase is the expression phase which is similar to the slower sucks your baby takes once their thirst is quenched. Both phases have an adjustable speed option to enable you to find the most comfortable speed for expressing. The ...
