I wish I'd shopped around more Advantages: helped get baby into better position for feeding Disadvantages: didn't stay put around waist and slipped away ...and drove straight out to Mothercare World to buy one. I was slightly disappointed at the shop when I realised that the Mothercare pillow was filled with cushion stuffing rather that the beans that my friend's had been filled with, but I was desperate, and paid my £20 on the spot and took my pillow home. It did help get the baby into a better position, and took a lot of strain off my back, but it is not very comfortable to use in bed (essential ... ...are still using the Mothercare feeding pillow on-and-off, but I've recently seen another feeding pillow in a local baby shop, and wish that I'd shopped around before buying this one. Word of mouth recommendation = good! Advantages: ease of use, security, safety Disadvantages: none really I was first made aware of this product when a member of a parenting community I hang out at ( http://www.mumsonline.net ) mentioned how much it helped when trying to sort out the intracises of breastfeeding those first few weeks after the little one arrived. When someone says "get a nursing pillow" my first thought was, "why spend money for a 'special' pillow when I have several already on my bed... Called pillows!" But, having taken the advice ... ...Lap Sac, and wanting the best for my baby, I decided to give it a try. And, WOW! Who knew that a 'special pillow' would make so much more of a difference? The ease of use, the comfort, the security.... I wouldn't trade this pillow for anything else in the world... Well, I wouldn't have done when I was nursing. But it was so good, I decided to keep it should we get 'surprised' again! ... Not quite brest... Advantages: firm cushion for positioning, can be used for bottle feeding too Disadvantages: cumbersome, not for those with severe back pain ...looking forward to trying out my brest friend support pillow after reading all the wonderful reviews about it. Sure it was not cheap, but it seems to be universally loved... Al looked well when the cushion first arrived - removable cover, pocket for the remote (don't we all get cranky if we lose that mid feed!), and a firm surface to help baby latch on well. When I tried it on, I was disappointed that I found it uncomfortable to use. I do have to ... ...though, I gave it to my partner to use when he was giving his bottles of expressed milk and he loved it. It meant that he kept his posture and didn't hunch his shoulders when giving the bottle. It also let him pretend that he was selling ice creams in a cinema, so good playtime for over sized boys! If the cushion fits...wear it! Advantages: Soft and portable. Disadvantages: Not one size fits all! The Boots nursing pillow that I bought was for £9.99 and was one that you blow up and has a soft covering. I used it a few times, but didn't actually find it any more useful than a normal pillow. I found that still carrying a little pregnancy weight (well thats what I call it!!!!) I didn't really fit in it very well. 'Wearing it', distorted the semi-circle shape and made it not so comfortable for my baby to lay on. I assume if you can fit in it, ... ...and washable. However, it's not a complete waste, I am using it to steady my baby when she is practicing to sit upright. It works very well for that! Another positive thing about the cushion is that it is deflatable, so therefore portable for going on trips or holiday!
