Suffering with an allergy to dust/dust mites means having to take strong medication three times daily and being constantly bunged up and snuffly. It drives me absolutely up the wall, especially at night as I find it hard to breathe. Over time I’ve learned to breathe through my mouth and this has become second nature now, however I have always been on the look out for something to ease my stuffy nose and allow my nasal airways to be clear, or at least clearer, to enable me to get a better nights sleep. After receiving a sample of these “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” I decided I had nothing to lose and they were worth giving a go.

You can purchase “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” from a whole host of physical retailers such as Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Lloyds and Sainsburys. You can also pick them up from your local chemist/pharmacy. You will find them in the same section of the shop as the sleep aids and/or decongestants. “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” are also available to purchase online from a variety of different stores, simply search for them on Google and pick your store of choice.

“Breathe Right Nasal Strips” tend to vary in price from place to place. The prices seem to range from £3-£5 for a pack of 10 strips depending on where you make your purchase. It may be worth shopping around a bit first to scope out the best price before rushing into a purchase, as you could bag a bargain in comparison to high street store prices.

“Breathe Right Nasal Strips” are available to purchase in packs of 10, and are packaged inside a blue coloured cardboard box. The name of the product ‘Breathe Right’ is in large text at the top of the box, above which is an image of the actual strip product itself. The box also features a photograph of a sleeping couple both wearing the “Breathe Right Nasal Strips”. The front of the box also gives some detail as to how the product works and states the size and amount of strips inside each package. The back of the box gives more in depth information about how the product works, who the product is suitable for and gives detail on how to use the product.

So what are “Breathe Right Nasal Strips”? Breathe Right Nasal Strips are drug-free adhesive strips with a unique reflex design that are proven to instantly relieve nasal congestion and reduce or eliminate snoring. The strips come in regular and large sizes to suit all noses, and have been specifically designed to comfortably open nasal passages and to aid the relief of a blocked, congested nose or problems with snoring.

These strips are suitable for alleviating a fair few nasal problems such as snoring, congestion, blocked nose due to allergies and general disturbed sleep due to nasal problems. I think the majority of purchases of this product are generally based around snoring, however I do not have this problem (unless I am having a severely congested day). I decided to try these strips out as I suffer with an allergy to dust/dust mites which blocks up my nose and prevents me from breathing nasally during sleep. Whether you’re a snorer, have allergies that affect your nose, or you simply suffer with congestion, these “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” can offer you a level of relief which can aid a better nights sleep. By opening up the nasal passages, these strips can allow you to receive deeper and less disturbed sleep.

Looks wise, these strips seem pretty simple. A beige/skin-tone in colour, these “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” remind me of a plaster (band aid) to be worn on the nose. The skin-tone fabric outer side looks exactly like the fabric plasters you can buy, but is shaped to fit the nose. Along the top of the fabric strip are two thin flexible plastic strips which are the essential part of this product as they flex out to open up your airways once the strip is in place. The back side of the product is covered with a sticky substance to enable to fabric flexy strip to adhere to your nose. Simple but pretty genius in design, these “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” aren’t much to look at but they work a treat!

Using the “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” really couldn’t be easier. They have no fiddly bits to get flustered with, and are drug free so there’s no need to worry about dosage. When you are getting ready to go to bed, simply remove one of the strips from the pack and remove it from its individual paper wrapper. Peel off the protective film from the back of the strip and place on the nose over the bridge as directed on the packet. Et voila! Your “Breathe Right Nasal Strip” is in place and working! To remove, dab a little warm water on either end of the strip to loosen, then gently peel the strip from the nose.

For me, these “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” really did make a difference. The strips are easy to apply, just like sticking a plaster on your nose. As soon as I had the strip in place, the plastic pieces in the strip flexed outwards and thus opened up my nasal passages. I could definitely tell there was a good deal of difference between trying to inhale without the strip, and being able to inhale pretty well whilst wearing the strip. Due to my allergies, my nose is constantly blocked, stuffy, snuffly or runny so I have huge problems when it comes to breathing through my nose. When I try to breathe through my nose I can either a) get no air in at all, or b) get a small amount of air in but feel like I’m not getting anywhere near enough. I now breathe through my mouth at all times, but this can make night times a pain as I obviously cannot control my breathing when I’m asleep so I often wake up and have very disturbed sleep due to not getting enough air or jumping myself awake if I try to breathe through my nose. These “Breathe Right Nasal Strips” made rather a lot of difference as my airways immediately felt clear and I felt like I could get a whole lot more air into my lungs with every intake of breath through my nasal passages. My problem is more irritating than severe, and as I always breathe through my mouth I have decided to only use these on particularly bad nights where my congestion is pretty severe and my nose feels particularly badly blocked. I also like the fact that this product is drug free, as it means they can be used in conjunction with other decongestant or sleep aid products to help relieve you of your stuffy noise. I take medication three times daily to keep my allergy symptoms to a minimum, and so I can use these strips at night along with my medication to help reduce my irritation and relieve my congestion. I would advise anyone that suffers with snoring, congestion or a stuffy nose from allergies to try these out at night time as they really could make a huge difference to your breathing and to the quality of sleep you (and your partner) get.
