...got an Antony Worrall Thompson Breville breadmaker a couple of months ago, and not only is it one of the prettiest, shiniest breadmakers around, it?s also got all sort of really good extra bits and pieces which make it worth spending a little more on. Everyone knows the basics of breadmaking with a breadmaker: you fill the bread pan with your ingredients, in the right order, close the lid, set the timer, and wait for the machine to do the work. You ... ...model. So what makes the Breville worth that little bit more of your hard-earned cash?
*It?s very simple to set the programme*
Even I can manage it. There are six basic settings ? you pick the appropriate number, choose your crust colour and your loaf size, perhaps add some time to the timer to delay the baking, and then press start. Not hard to master.
* It has an automatic fruit and nut dispenser*
You drop your mixed fruit/nuts into the compartment ...

...bough out Antony Worrall Thompson Breville Br8 Bread Machine almost 2 years ago, bought for my wife, but used by both of us. This was to replace a not-so-good Murphy Richards machine which made yeasty bread and misshaped loaves.
The Br8 was getting mixed reviews at the time, some good and some bad, but it was the top-of-the-range model, which of course meant pricey (at around £100-£120), but look at it, it was shiny and very pretty, it must be good!
... ...though I was admittedly very unsure how much use this thing got, I mean, for a family of four, how was my wife going to make enough bread to feed us all? So as I do with anything I doubt the rest of the family will use, I kept the receipt just in case, but I will tell you know, that receipt has long since been binned...
Let me give you a rundown of the features:
-68 Baking and Kneading options: Ok, it’s a bread machine, so it makes bread yes? Well, ...

Advantages: Good instruction book and easy to use Disadvantages: large and a little bulky
I bought a breville breadmaker as I wanted to be able to make my own bread free of additives.
The breville bread maker comes with a comprehensive instruction and reciepe book. Also with the bread maker comes a beaker for measuring out the water and a spoon that measures a tablespoon at one end and a teaspoon at the other.
The bread maker can make different size loaves and the reciepe book gives the amounts needed. You can also choose the type of ... ...place your ingredients.
The Breville breadmaker will do all different kinds of bread the two I have made most are wholemeal and white. There is a fruit dispenser that will add fruit automatically at the reight time for the reciepe.
To set the Breville breadmaker going is very easier once you select the type, size of loaf and crust it automatically puts on the time and you just set it going, most of the reciepes take between 2 and 3 hours and the ...

Advantages: Reliable product that requires no attention. Easy to follow recipes and instructions. Looks good in any kitchen Disadvantages: No disadvantages
Decided to puchased a bread maker as I found it difficult to always get fresh bread and some shops charge what they want as they know that you need bread.
I have made various loaves in it as well as making dough that I have baked in the oven. All the recipes are easy to follow and it is great waking up with the smell of fresh bread. This product is very stable on the counter and does not "walk" so you can have it on delayed start. The hole at the ...

Advantages: Exact copy of the more expensive Breville Disadvantages: Recipe book enclosed not as good, so need to use different one
...A friend and I bought our bread machines within a week of each other. They purchased the breville AWT BR8 and I bought this swan. The difference in price at the time was nearly fifty quid (not insignificant) however the machines themselves were identical! (except that is for the colour, the swan comes in white the breville in silver)
I've now had mine for nearly two years and it has performed exactly as it said, though I must admit I use the recipes from my friends breville cookbook instead of the swan cookbook as they work better.
Advantages:
Easy to clean pan.
Delay setting so you can get hot bread first thing in the morning if you like.
Dough setting for specility bread
Fruit and nut dispenser - especially good if you are buying it for speciality bread which needs things adding half way into cycle as it saves you...

...I've had my Goodmas Cuisine GBM625 for nearly 2 years now. It looks identical to the BrevilleBR8, only with a white finish rather than the stainless steel look. I bought it in the Tesco sale for about £35 I think - certainly under the £40 mark.
It has the ususal non-stick bread pan and makes loaves of 750g, 1kg and 1.5 kg. I usually make a 1kg loaf, which feeds my family of four easily.
There are 12 settings for different breads and doughs, I normally use the Turbo one which makes a medium white or wholemeal loaf in just over 2 hours.
It's incredibly simple to use - just chuck the ingredients into the pan in the order listed and away you go! The automatic fruit and nut dispenser means you don't have to hang around waiting for the beep to tell you when to add those luxury extras like sunflower seeds or raisins, the machine does...
