Advantages: Design, Look, Speed of boil Disadvantages: None
Up until November 2008 I had always used the Breville JK52 model that was until it blown up and stopped working.
So here is a review of the item that I bought to replace the JK52 model.
I need to buy another kettle which was quick at boiling and was of course stylish. As I had had my last Breville since November 2005 I was more than happy to buy another Breville.
I decided on the Breville JK119 Model

Why this model
Well as I have already said I wanted another Breville as I had been happy with the previous model that was until it died. However I did look around the internet to insure that I was doing the best thing. I really wanted a kettle that was funky, stylish ...

Advantages: User friendly, toasts quickly and so easy to keep clean Disadvantages: The catch can be a little tight to close
there hands with the idea. But the most popular brand has to be from the boffins at the Australian company known as Breville, who have created many different types of sandwich toasters.
The sandwich toaster I actually own, and have done for a while now, is from the mentioned Breville range and is, in my opinion, a godsend when it comes to creating warm sandwiches for all the family, in a matter of minutes.
** THE TECHNICAL BITS first?
This sandwich toaster comes with removable easy to clean, dishwasher safe, heating plates to toast your bread and melt the filling to perfection.
It has a simple single heat setting with a built in thermostat to so the ?plates? never exceed a set temperature, the little green and red light taking turns to illuminate dependant on the units temperature.
Unfortunately though ...

Advantages: Quick. Allows you to use just the right amount of water saving you money Disadvantages: It leaks....a lot!
Initially I was very pleased with this kettle. It boils quickly & pours well. The glass case is excellent for helping you boil just what you need.
However now had the kettle just over 6 months and it leaks. A part from being very annoying it is also potentially dangerous.
I can't return it to EmpireDirect as they no longer exist. Breville have agreed to me returning it to them, but refuse to pay the postage.
My last kettle cost £4.99 and lasted just over a year. I thought the Breville would last at least 7 years not 6 months.
If Breville replace it and refund my postage I might be happy, but will I end up returning the next one again at my own expense?
I notice the other reviews seem good, although some of course have not been owned long enough or perhaps I have just been unlucky. Will update this with Breville's response ...
