Advantages: Stylish, quick boil Disadvantages: Short Life
...I bought the Breville Classique (KT6) from COMET on the 30 August 2001 for what I considered was a fair price (£36) considering its looks and features.
The quite fetching chromed stainless steel body looked a treat in our kitchen (which has stainless appliances) and as we live in a hard water area the scale filter is a noce little touch - shame it is so flimsy as it broke after about 6 months. It has a quickboil (3KW) element and does what you expect in that department.
If you do buy I wish you luck - mine died (element failure) before the 2 year point and the kettle only carries a 1 year guarantee. COMET did not want to know and BREVILLE were not interested. In discussions with BREVILLE they said that they expected the kettle to last around 4 or 5 years but would not stand by that by offering me a replacement at half the retail price...

Advantages: Very easy to assemble, take apart and to clean. Minimal veg/fruit prep needed Disadvantages: Noisier than some juicers due to powerfull motor (made up for by ease of juicing!)
...Over the years I have owned a number of juicers ranging from budget centrifugal juicers right up to expensive auger juicers. This has been by far the most impressive one I've owned in terms of how little effort it takes to use it. With all juicers once the novelty has worn off it can become a bit of a chore to incoporate the daily grind (sorry) into a busy lifestyle. All the cleaning and veg prep takes time and sometimes even putting the thing togther (or getting it a apart if you're a magimix owner) seems just too much like hard work. The good news is that the Breville JE3 not only assembles and disassembles in about 30 seconds, it is also incredibly easy to clean as it contains no fiddly parts or inaccessible bits . Food prep time is also drastically reduced by the design of the feed shute being large enough to accomadate anything...

Advantages: Not too expensive, Does it's job, Easy to use Disadvantages: Perhaps wouldn't suit someone who uses a fryer on a regular basis, Cooking times shown on the machine aren't 100% accurate
...Ok, we all know deep frying food isn't particularly healthy... but then again, if you're someone who likes chips occasionally, you'll also know that every now and again it's nice to have 'proper' chips - the kind where you chop up your potatoes and fry them till they're a lovely crispy golden brown, rather than those ready made oven chips that stay soggy and pale.
The Breville Cool Wall Deep Fryer is a great fryer if you're not looking to spend a lot and probably don't plan on having chips and fried food every night! Breville are known for making a lot of lower priced kitchen equipment (in particular sandwich toasters!), and generally good quality.
The Breville Deep Fryer (or BrevilleDF2 Coolwall Deep Fryer to give it its catalogue name) is currently available in Argos for a mere £19.95. The price probably reflects what you get...
