One definite advantage for me is you just press a button on the top and it keeps the remaining water at a simmer so you don't have ... ...at a time.
It's really really quick and boils two mugs in less than a minute and bliss( first thing in the morning) it's very quiet!!
Has a cut off feature so it can't boil dry, but i always switch it off at night as the water does evaporate when it's on the keep warm mode. Has a feature that tells you when the filter needs replacing, but haven't seen it yet as I've only had it 4 months.

It is very colourful - Is it just with mine that the colourful lights don't seem to shut out on? I do love it though. The filters are very cheap to buy so that's a real plus. I,m just a sucker for kettles that do things. Sad but true ...
