Breville JK136 Lightning S/S

The Breville JK136 Lightning Kettle is stylish, sophisticated and sleek. My mum's friend bought it for her a few years ago and it certainly glams up our kitchen. It boils water very fast and I love the stainless steel metallic finish and best of all the illumination feature! Maybe I'm just a kid at heart but I just think it looks super cool, especially when its on standby mode and is all lit up in blue - even in a lit-up kitchen like ours, you can still see the bright glow light clearly. When on boil, the blue colour is replaced with red and you can faintly see the water bubbling inside. I like that it has cup level indicators on the side to show you how many cups a certain water level will get you - so no need to boil too much water - hence saving money. The automatic shut off feature is good as it means you can leave the room without worrying that it will keep on boiling. Inside the kettle where the spout is, you have an extremely fine plastic mesh filter which is removable - I guess so you can get it replaced when needed, this all means that it stops all the bits in the water that you sometimes get from getting into your cuppa. There is a push button on the top corner of the handle that opens the lid up - so you don't need to open it yourself like normal kettles. It has a circular swivel base, unlike most kettles, so you could place it back on it's base any which way - another plus. Overall there isn't any downsides I can see from this kettle - a must buy for sure!!
