I bought this kettle as a novelty Christmas present for my girlfriend as her other kettle was only 800 Watts and took an eternity to boil. This one is much more powerful, rated at 3KW and boils very quickly indeed.
The light show is very entertaining, in fact so much so, that I wanted to put it in the living room. My girlfriend objected for some reason ?
The way it slowly fades from one colour to the next is very asthetically pleasing. When you first switch it on to boil, from cold, the colour changes from blue to red as the water heats up. My only niggle is that as soon as it has boiled it switches back to colour changing mode straight away. I would have preferred it to stay red for a while to indicate the water is hot. Handy for kids to know this too.
The keep warm function I suppose is a great feature for larger households that use the kettle often. I rarely use the function myself.
Overall I would recommend this kettle to anyone. If you dont like wasting energy, or are as forgetful as me, and forget to switch it off at night, this might not be the kettle for you.
