Breville TR40

I've had my Breville TR40 for about a month now and I wish I'd bought it sooner! My old sandwich maker had finally bitten the dust after it lost it's non stick plating, probably due to my having to scrape the contents out on nearly every occasion-not so with the Breville TR40. Breville TR40 ~Description~ The Breville TR40 is a café-style sandwich press. It has a nice modern stainless steel finish and a black plastic handle. It has two non-stick plates on a floating hinge enabling you to toast thicker breads and you can set the top plate on its highest setting enabling you to make cheese on toast. I received one of these last Christmas and when I received it, I thought it was one of the best presents that I'd received. It was purchased from amazon for about £40. I think it's now about £30. INTRO :- The Breville TR40 is a pannini press, NOT a sandwich maker. My point in saying this is to inform the reader that this doesn't have any sandwich shaped cavities as other breville sandwich makers have. As such it allows for other types of bread to be used, i.e. pannini, ciabata etc... It will of course toast sandwiches as well and has space for two large sandwiches in one go. Perfect toasted sandwiches in minutes. Most people who have experienced the older style of toasty maker will probably agree that they were messy to use and a nightmare to clean. You had to butter the outside of both slices of bread and by the time you got the bread squeezed into the funny shaped hotplates, if you got a teaspoon of filling in either half then you were doing well. I decided to buy this after reading everyones comments on ciao. I'm so pleased I use this site for practically everything I buy. I've always had a breville sandwich maker as I feel they're very reliable but wanted to try a sandwich press as I like the various paninis etc. you can buy nowadays.
