When I first got my toastie maker out of the box to say I was disappointed was to say the least, it had a ghastly white cord and a white plug. Common sense would ... ...I think the Breville TR47 was designed quite poorly there isn't actually a on or off switch it just simply plugs into the mains and automatically comes on. As so as you plug it on a red light will appear which means it is warming up to its pre-set manufacturers heat setting. This takes around three minutes to warm up until it is ready to use.
