Hmm. Going on my attempts to fix steam iron's by other makers, I would advise you junk it and buy a replacement. This might not be "green" advice but it will likely prove uneconomic to do anything else - especially if parts are needed and more especially if you don't feel able to try fixing it yourself and need to pay someone to try to fix it. Is it under guarantee though? Take it back to the shop and try for a replacement or a repair..
