Advantages Advantages Best cricket game available, gameplay wise.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of Licensing, graphics could improve slightly

Overview ********************************** As with it's football counterpart, Cricket games are divided into roughly 2 divisions. The EA sport variety and the non EA sport variety. As good as the EA sports brand name is, it has often failed to live up to being the dominant gamer in many sports. In football the Fifa series has been playing second fiddle to Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer games. In cricket, EA sports has been in battle with Codemasters to establish itself as the leading name for cricket games. Comparing EA sports Cricket 2005 and Codemasters Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 ... more

Advantages Advantages ok graphics, easy to master controls

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor gameplay, shots are repetitive, commentary drives you mad

Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 was a purchased made following the England cricket team victory over the Australians in the Ashes last Summer and for once I actually bought a copy brand new for £34.99 from Tesco so much was my urgent need to continue my fixation with cricket. I had heard good things about the game and took it home for a closer inspection and casting the instruction booklet to one side in a very manly way I set about getting my arse kicked by Bangladesh while playing as England. Moments later I was studying the instruction booklet as though my life depended upon being ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast paced Arcade style action

Disadvantages Disadvantages Total lack of realism, can become monotonous

Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 leaves off from the previous installment, Brian Lara Cricket 99. The game features correct rosters for official tournaments (ie, for world cup 2003 and champions trophy, the squad lists are what they really were) but contain fake names and faces for exhibition and unofficial games. Kits are also either out of date (official tournaments) or fake. The game itself is fun to play at first. Bowling contains all sorts of different abilities such as cutters, yorkers and bouncers for pace bowlers, and all sorts of deliveries for spinners, such as googlies ... more

    Advantages Advantages fun and challenging

Disadvantages Disadvantages Graphics, commentry and replays

Well where can I start? I purchesed this game pre owned for around 12 pounds, and it was a fairly good buy. As i enjoy cricket, I naturally enjoy playing the game on the Xbox. The teams and stadiums and game play you can select from give a factual and realistic choice, giving a longish ( time can be set ) and enjoyable game, both mulitiplayer or single player. However the downside of the game lies within the commentry and the instant replay. It is all extremely repetative and after every shot, an instant replay, lasting for around 30 seconds, is shown. This is incredably tedious to sit through ... more

Advantages Advantages Good graphics, hawkeye all players and kits best cricket around

Disadvantages Disadvantages not players real names, poor commentary and lack of shots

Brian lara 2005 has to be the best cricket team around i brought when it first came it was really good but there are places for improvement. The game is very easy and simple to play but it seems to easy as you can post some high scores with just hitting fours and sixes and it is incredible hard to get a wicket it is not as easy as it sounds. They could aslo have put more challenges in the game their are only 9 challenges which are very easy to complete and the players names are not even spelt correctly probabley becuase they didnt get a licensed. But you can also customise your own tournament ... more
