I've been a bridge teacher for about 15 years. Many people choose to learn for the social aspect. Having completed the course many learners say how it's changed their lives completely. Some play every evening at their local club and have made many new friends. It's becoming ever more increasingly popular on the internet though personally I prefer 'live' play. Basically if you've never played before it's a game for multiples of 4 people who form partnerships. A new language has to be learnt (the bidding part of the game) and then the 'play' of the cards takes place each side trying to outdo the other. Unlike most card games luck takes only a very small percentage part of the game particulary when you play in competition with many other pairs. I recommend it to all who have not tried and who knows you may also become hooked.
