I don’t always take as much care of my teeth as I should. I decided it was about time that I paid them a little more attention. They are slightly discoloured and I wanted to whiten them, without having to go to the dentist. I don’t like going to the dentist you see, I never really have.
When I was a child my mother was a stickler for my teeth. She always made me go to the dentist. I had a lot of problems when I was younger and can remember always being at the hospital, having braces fitted. When I left home, my teeth were my responsibility and I have to say that I started to neglect them.
This is where this product comes in. I spotted in the other day, while I was out shopping, and decided to give it a go. It claims it can whiten you teeth, gently, by a few shades, in a week. It was reasonably priced and so I decided to give it a go.
**********************WHAT IS IT*********************
This product is called Brilliant Tooth Whitening System. It is a three-step course, to whiter teeth. It comes in a box and there are three different steps that you have to follow.
The first step is the accelerator. The second step is the whitening gel. The third step is the whitening toothpaste. I will talk about this in more detail, shortly.
I bought the starter kit. This kit provides you with everything
you need for seven days. It is dentist developed and tested.
*********************WHAT YOU GET********************
Inside the box you will find everything that you need. There is an instruction sheet, that is easy to follow, and accelerator pen, a tube of gel and a tube of toothpaste. There is also a gum shield that can be fitted to the top and bottom teeth.
Instruction sheet
The instruction sheet is detailed with text and with pictures. This makes it easy to follow and understand. It has four different languages on it, but each step is clearly labelled. It takes through what to do and how todo it, easily.
Accelerator Pen
This is a small tube, about 3 inches long. It is purple and white in colour. This is the first step to the treatment. Directions of use for this step can be located on the back of the tube and on the instruction sheet. It doesn’t have a particular smell to it, but it does remind me of being at the dentist.
Whitening Gel
This is a tube of gel, which is used as the second step to this treatment. Again, it is white and purple in colour. Directions of how to use this product can be located on the back of the tube and on the instruction sheet. To be able to do the second step you also need the gum shield. The whitening gel is clear in colour and smells minty.
Gum Shield
This is just like what boxers use, except that it is clear, flexible and rubbery. It can be used on the top and bottom teeth and it is to be used with the second step. How, I will come to later.
Whitening Toothpaste
This is the third and final step to this treatment. The tube is white and purple in colour but the toothpaste inside is pale blue. It smells very minty but is to be used just like any other toothpaste.
******************DIRECTIONS OF USE******************
I am going to run through how to use this product, as with it being in three parts, it can seem a little daunting the first time you use it.
*Use the accelerator pen and run it over you teeth. Press firmly but not too hard. This will allow for even coverage. As you press, the liquid inside will spread over your teeth. Make sure that you cover all of your teeth as evenly as you can. This will prevent uneven whitening. Try not to let your lips or tongue touch your teeth, once the accelerator has been applied. This will remove the liquid and stop them from being whitened.
*Use the whitening gel and the gum shield for step two. Squeeze a small but even amount of gel into the gum shield, in both the slots provided. Place the gum shield in you mouth, making sure that top and bottom teeth are well covered. If you put too much gel in, it will squirt out as you press it onto your teeth, meaning it will slide down your throat. I advise that you only use a little, or you might feel like you are gagging. Leave the gum shield over your teeth for no more than five minutes.
*The final step is the toothpaste. Take out the gum shield and brush you teeth with the toothpaste that is provided. Brush like you would normally, making sure that all your teeth are covered and are brushed evenly. Rinse your mouth afterwards and repeat these steps every day, for seven days.
*********************EASE OF USE*********************
The first time you use this product it can be a little tricky. The more you do it though, the easier it becomes. The first step is easy as the liquid flows from the pen easily but slowly. It has soft head that runs over your teeth and the liquid is dispensed through that. It is a little difficult to keep your lips and tongue off your teeth though, so I suggest that you get the second step ready, before you do the first step. If you do it this way, as soon as you have put the accelerator on, you can place the gum shield in your mouth.
Placing the gel into the gum shield is the trickiest part. The first time I did it I put too much in and nearly chocked myself. As you press the gum shield over your teeth, the gel covers them. If you place too much gel in the shield the excess squirts over the top of the shield and slides down your throat. It has nowhere else to go apart from down your throat. I have found that a thin layer, in the two slots of the gum shield is all that is needed. Make sure when you place it in the slots though, that you press it to the bottom. This will allow for even coverage.
The toothpaste is the final step and is to be used like any other toothpaste. This makes this step the easiest. You only need a small amount, as it is quite strong in taste and smell. As it has whitening purposes and it is designed to last you seven days, you can judge for yourself how much to use. This toothpaste is only to be used with everything else in this pack and not to be used on it’s own. You will achieve better results if you use it in conjunction with the rest of the pack.
I bought this product from Bodycare. It was on the same shelves as toothpaste and mouthwashes. It has very distinctive packaging and is very noticeable. I paid £3.99 for a starter kit, which lasts seven days. I think the price is very fair, for what you get.
After using this product once, I could see a difference. It was only a slight difference but it was noticeable. The fact that it had made a difference was what persuaded me to stick with it. If it can make a difference after just one application, then I was curious to see what it could do after the seven that it recommends.
Each time I used this product my teeth looked a little whiter. The stains from tea, coffee and food started to disappear and my teeth began to look white and healthy again. Like they did when I was a kid. I have to say that after three applications I was happy with the result, but I carried on using the product for the seven days.
After the seven days, I still had a little it of each of the steps left, so I carried on using it till I ran out. In total I think I got nine days use out of this pack.
After nine days of using this product I was very impressed. My teeth were white, they had no stains on them and they felt clean. Even after eating something, they still felt clean and looked white.
Once you have finished the product it advises you to go back to your normal toothpaste and to brush regularly.
I am that impressed with the results from this product, that I whole-heartedly recommend it. It will save you money in the end, as you wont have to go to the dentist and pay to have your teeth cleaned. It does just as good a job as the dentist does, and the results last.
If you are looking for an easy way to whiten your teeth, then this is it. I wont say that it is the quickest way to whiten you teeth, as your dentist can do it in a few minutes, but if like me you don’t like the dentist, then this is the next best thing.
It is painless, cheap, and easy to use and gives effective and noticeable results.
Rated four stars, because it takes seven days.
