This mallard train set is compatible with the Brio wooden railway system made from beech wood. It is a large layout having 19 pieces of track including 2 sets of points and a bridge. 1 curved track and a mechanical switching track.
The engine is obviously the Mallard and some 2 carriages with the set too. more

This mallard train set is compatible with the Brio wooden railway system made from beech wood. Not only will this set provide stimulation for your Childs imagination but it will help their motor skills placing and fitting the track arranging the other track furniture. Brio trains are linked with magnets so this is a learning opportunity too.
I really think this is a super set with the Mallard train.
The mallard is the fastest steam locomotive in the world. Mallard reached 126mph/202kmph. Designed in the 1930's by Sir Nigel Gresley, an engineer who designed the Flying Scotsman. The Mallard ran on the LNER London Edinburgh route till the 1960's

My hubby is a bit of a steam train enthusiast, he has had several model railways in the past. Now he has to content himself with playing with my grandsons Briotrainset.
The two boys love playing with this set making a track layout putting the trains on. One of the trains my grandson has is the Brio wooden trainMallard this train is a copy of the steam trainMallard, The Mallard ran from 1935-1963 is supposed to be the fastest steam train from that era.
Briotrainsets are really good well made. The wooden track is well made will last for a couple of generations. Each piece fits together like a jigsaw puzzle.
There are many trains and tenders available in the briosets. Lots of railway accessories.
Briotrain will run on the cheaper tesco track they are interchangable.
