This is made from wood of course a traditional train its painted red and black with a yellow funnel. There are windows painted into the drivers cab . This steam engine measures 3.4 inches/ 10 cm long. This train will fit on the wooden brio tracks that Adrian has and the cheaper wooden tesco tracks.
Nana pushes the steam train along the straight bits around a right handed curve whoosh she is getting a steam up. ……….. The wheels go round and the pistons move faster and faster. This train is nana powered not battery or electric powered. We get to the station so Nana has to stop for a rest and sip of tea .Adrian takes over driving the steam train. Ohhohh there’s a cow on the track Adrian. He stops the train and puts the cow back on to the field (carpet) Adrian says he is taking his train to the seaside. There are so many imaginary games that you can play with this train; you could always put a few cowboys and Indians around it and raid the train. It looks like a train that might exist then.
Brio train sets and trains are super they do look like the real thing. These trains will last for years they will become heirlooms to be passed on to the next generation.
This train and Brio train sets are suitable for a child aged about 3.They will get years of fun from this toy. The recommended price of this steam engine is US Amazon is selling it for $6.99 or it is £4.99 on the UK site. Toys are us sell it for £4.99 in fact most places I looked it was £4.99p
Brio was founded by Ivar Bengtsson a Swedish basket maker in 1884; the first toys were made in 1907. The brio train sets have been available for about 45 years. Brio trains are well made and look good. I would certainly recommend buying them. Watch out as to get a large set it does cost a lot of money eventually. The tesco train set although not quite as nice as the Brio is compatible.
Educational and skills learnt from playing with this train and the brio set. Motor skills are practiced as your child fits the track together for this train to run on and then grasps the train and keeps it running on the track. Imagination is let loose as they negotiate bends; go over and under bridges with the train taking the train and its passengers on a journey somewhere. History could be learnt to as this is how a train looked years ago. This train could be used as an example if your child is doing a project about transport. Your child will also learn about wheels when playing with this train. If your child is playing with another child then they will learn play skills, how to take turns and cooperate with others.
