Don't buy a used car from BTC!

I bought a VW Golf GTi from BTC recently. I was encouraged to part ex my old car and take this one home the same day as the salesman would earn extra commission. This suited me at the time and I arranged to take the car back up (130 mile round trip) to have the cambelt service, valet! etc done then. A courtesy car was provided and the cambelt service and brake discs & pads etc were replaced. As I collected the car, they didn't have time to do the valet (car was clean on the outside when bought but disgustingly filthy on the inside) and noone had looked at the poor acceleration issue until i mentioned it again, result an air intake sensor had gone. result - to be booked back in 2 weeks time for another round trip of 130 miles and another day in an awful Daewood Matiz. As it happens, I also had negotiated in the deal a new key which had arrived but not been programmed. I left the car with them on the 2nd visit for 3 days - during which time nobody could be bothered to take it to the main VW dealer for a 20 minute coding operation.

Also, the valet consisted only of a quick exterior shampoo, no vacuum and no upholstery clean. There was a rocking noise with the seat which they decided to ignore as this was too much of a problem for them.

I was sold the car with a service history although this never materialised. Despite many calls to aftersales, the original salesman, waiting in reception I still haven't got this service history and now want to sell the car which I will no doubt lose shed loads on. Thanks very much BTC I will certainly not be recommending you to anyone.

Hi, I just had a horrible experience with them as well...watch this space because I am bordering on taking them to court, sold me a £8.000 car with dodgy brakes/numerous other defects, dodgy documents, after service is horrendous, they suck you in with skilled acting and then turn into some kind of demons afterwards....DON'T GET TAKEN IN or BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM, you WILL live to regret it to forever more to anybody also reading these reviews, will keep you informed! Hope you've managed to resolve some of your issues with them?
