Advantages better water quality

Disadvantages none

I have just bought one of these Brita Marella Water Filter as the water I get from the mains sometimes comes out with a slight tinge of brown in it, and then it goes white and you have to run the taps to get it to go clear, sometimes it is alright but I don't like to take chances with water and always have a water filter in tne house to make tea and coffee and other things like gravy, instant custard, soups ect and this time when my old water filter needed replacing I went to Rockfield DIY store and bought this model. It cost me £9.99

The packaging is all recyclable and the water filter is a clear plastic jug with a compartment for the filter to click into then the white lid on top. The lid has an indicator which you press once you have got the water filter going and this indicator is like a timer that counts down until the bars on it have gone away and you know it's time to buy another filter and replace the old one.

The water filter cartridges can be bought at the supermarkets and will cost you anything from £4.00 for a single one to £13.99 for three cartridges and one free.
I like to buy the multi pack as it works out cheaper.

When you first get your water filter, wash it out with warm water. Then take the compartment out that the cartridge sits in and fill the jug with enough water to stand the cartridge in. Submerge the cartridge in the water and shake the cartridge to get rid of the bubbles.
You then have to empty this water away and refit the compartment that the cartridge stands in. Put the cartridge in firmly and press it down into place until it clicks into place.

Once this is done you can begin to filter the water taking note to pour away the first two jugs of water and not to drink them. Once you have poured the first two jugs away you can them drink the water.
Just looking at the water from through the jug will show you just how clear it is, it looks delicious and makes the best cuppa you will ever taste, if anything is great value for money then this water filter is.
It gives you litres and litres of clear tasty filtered water each month.

You can really taste the difference and there is no film on top of a cup of tea of coffee. I have been known to leave cuppa's at people's houses if I have been given a cup with film on as it isn't nice. With this water filter you can make the best brew, the best ice cubes and squash.

You can get a 2 years guarantee on this product once you have bought it at www.registration.brita.net
There is a good instruction booklet that comes with it and this is in many languages too.
You can only filter cold water and it has to be kept in a cool place in the kitchen.
Replace the cartidges once the indicator says and there you go.
