Well done Britannia Building Society in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol UK for ruining my eight year old daughter’s first attempt at opening a savings account. The dismissive attitude, incompetence and rudeness of counter staff left my daughter open mouthed. When I asked to speak to the manager they proudly announced that they didn’t have one and that they were perfectly capable of running the branch between themselves. We didn’t open a savings account with Britannia Building Society and my attempt that day of providing a positive experience for my daughter regarding savings was left in tatters. Britannia Building Society is not the place to encourage children to save. I also suggest you find a building society or bank that possesses a manager that is answerable or at least offers an apology for uncaring staff. You have been warned.
Sorry you had such bad experiences - but even so, there is no significant detail on the services, only the woefully minimal customer service skills of the staff at that particular branch. Why not read around other reviews on the site and rewrite - I'd happily rerate if you do.
