I took out Britannia cover many years ago and was drawn to them by recommendation by a family member. I liked that I could cover the car, regardless of driver, rather than covering the driver. Over the years, I have changed vehicles and covered more than one vehicle on the same policy when I have owned classic cars. Britannia don't have restrictions on age of vehicle, to my knowledge. Cost was the other factor important to me - cheaper than the competition. The longest time I have had to wait for rescue has been 35 minutes and that was when I was stranded on the A1 motorway. I think they try harder as they are not as large as the RAC or AA, both of which I think are too complacent. Also, on Bank Holidays or snowy times when the AA/RAC are swamped, I have had no problem with Britannia because they use local contractors, rather than their own fleet vehicles. I don't have the homestart option, though I have been recovered to my home on more than one occasion at night with agreement that Britannia will come out again the next day to my home to transport me to a garage - something I think is great customer service. I have introduced other family members and get £5 off next year's premium for doing it. I wouldn't do it for a fiver if they weren't worth it.
