Advantages: Comfortable, padded, safe, machine washable cover Disadvantages: Appears to rock when backward facing
I bought this car seat for my daughter after she outgrew her baby car seat. I researched it as much as I could and I am so happy with the purchase!

It can face backwards while your child is still small (0-13kgs) and then face forwards for when your child is older (9-18kgs). I found when I used it before she was 9kg (ie facing backwards), the seat appeared to rock and look unstable which worried me. A towel or tablecloth under the back bar stabilised it though. Not only was it affordable, when it arrived (I bought it online), I was so impressed with the padding and what appeared to be excellent quality materials.
Installing was easy, or rather as easy as a car seat can get! It was so softly padded, I joke with my husband that I would sit in it if she didn't want to. The padding covered the entire area she would be in contact with.
I recommend it more for forward facing use than backwards because of this.
Being able to washing the cover is great and I do it every 3-6 months or so, depending on how much it has been used and how dirty it gets. The only problem with washing is the usual having to remove the seatbelt and then replace it once it is clean which can be time-consuming. But it is important to me that I can actually wash the cover in the machine, makes life easy! So far, the cover hasn't showed any signs of fading from washing (I have the black and grey colour).
If you're in a hot country I can imagine the colour black and grey would make it hot, and I think the padding might make your child sweat or feel hotter, so I can't really say if it is great for that situation.
We have traveled with the car seat once and although heavy, the airline (Emirates) allowed us to have it not included in our weight allowance. It is heavy to carry around though, not heavy than any other I would imagine.
I have had to adjust the straps and make them tighter, and it is easy, just a pull on the strap. To loosen it is the same, very easy, just a pull on the strap while holding the lever down in the front. When it comes to adjusing the height of the shoulder straps it is harder as you have to remove the seat from the car and work in the back. That doesn't have to be done too often though, so not a big problem for me.
All in all, a great purchase which I am very happy with, well worth the money, looks comfortable and my daughter is happy in it. Recommended highly for forward-facing use, not so much for backward facing.
Advantages: It keeps us 'legal', offers some degree of protection Disadvantages: Not user firendly, or car friendly!
...in any car. Disturbingly, the Britax fit finding programme lists the fit as only 'acceptable' in most cars (I tried my family member's car types as well as those commonly used by famillies).
The seat harness straps can only be adjusted by taking the seat out of the car which is a nuisance. If we go out and it's warm, out comes the seat, if it's a cool day and my baby needs a coat, out it comes again. This does not sound a huge effort, but when you ... ...is! The harness is difficult to get to the right fit, the best way to get it safe seems to be lengthen the straps, but th ebaby in then pull them tight ... which of course means taking the seat everytime you use it! Otherwise it is near impossible to get teh baby's arms into the straps.
My baby 'slouches' over in this seat if he falls asleep. He has good neck control, but nothing can keep his head safely up in this seat. I am petrified every time ...

Advantages: well padded, easy tu use , cosy Disadvantages: fiddly when moving from car to car
the seat must always be fully reclined.
In the forward facing position it has a 5 position reclining handle from fully upright to fully reclined which is easily adjustable by lifting the handle and sliding the seat forward without disturbing your child. It has the usual 5 point harness strap which is easily adjustable with four shoulder heights.
The seat is fitted using the diagonal belt and there are a number of seat belt locks to ensure the seat is well fitted and although Halfords offer a free fitiing service, the instructions are easy to understand. It can be a little fiddly when you first try and when moving the seat from car to car.
Although suitable for most cars, all makes, models and years of car differ and it is not guaranteed but you can check before you buy on 01264386034 or by visiting fit-finder on the website www.britax ...
This car seat has the flexibility of being both rear and forward facing. It's a great choice if you don't need an infant carrier that connects to a pushchair travel system. Features: Deep, softly padded side wings for optimum side impact protection.5 forward facing recline positions help your child to enjoy a comfortable ride journey. 2 seat belt routing options (where forward facing) allow the seat to be used in an exceptionally wide range of vehicles - ideal if your family uses more than one car. Ideal if your child has outgrown an infant carrier but can't yet travel forward facing. The slim base enables a better fit in modern sculpted seats. Unique pitch control system reduces forward movement in a crash and so better protects your child. When rear facing the extended recline position and newborn insert create a more natural sleeping position. Removable, washable cover. User friendly side elastics retain the harness straps, making it easier to get your child in and out of the seat. Specially designed, spring loaded belt locking mechanism allows easy installation, even in three door cars. 5 point safety harness with easy one pull adjustment.
