It was a nightmare trying to find a car seat that actually fits in my ford fiesta!Plus it 's only a 3 door that i have, so trying to get in the back to sort the seat out was a pain. Eventually, i found the britax first class. It wouldnt have been my ideal choice because of the dull colours on the material, but we had to go with it, as it was the only one that fitted. this is a second stage seat, so you can use it from birth, right up until the child is four. From birth up to approx 9 months(201b)it has to be rearward facing in the front or back of the car. when the child reaches 201b, you can have it forward facing, and use it until the child reaches four.
N.B>>i just want to point out, that you shouldnt have your baby forward facing until they they are at least 201b in weight, this is because there neck wont be supported enough and it wasn't tested on under this weight.
It has got 5 recline positions, so that you can lay the baby back when they are sleeping. It has got a good height on the chair, which my daughter likes because she can clearly see out of the window on our travels!!
The seat has a 5 point harness, ans once the child is strapped in, the straps can be adjusted very easily. The two shoulder straps are well cushioned to give extra support, and if the baby is newborn, it comes with a detachable head support too.
The covers are machine washable, although, it;s quite a pain taking it off, and i think the padding on the seat could be a little more thick.
The downside to this car seat is that, it is awkward to install in the car because it is so heavy and bulky. If you are thinking of taking it out quite often, i wouldnt recommend it to you.
I paid £100 for this seat, which is a reasonable price to pay when saftey comes first.
My daughter(who by the way is 16 mths)seems to enjoy using the seat anyway, so out of 10, i would give this 9.
>>>PLEASE NOTE:The age group i have put is 12-36 mths, which isnt right, but i have had to put that as the age range for the seat is not specified in the selection given,

Hello Adele. Thanks for the information in your op. - does sound a pain just getting into the back of your car, before you actaully install it. I did wonder what colour it was that you did not like. Kind regards and a Happy New Year ... Barrie.

Nicely laid out review, though personally I like to have the "I" in capitals. sylvie
Advantages: Tilt for comfort, five point harness with padding, easy to move between cars Disadvantages: Large base with metal bars which may mark car furnishings
