We originally bought a car seat that went with the buggy we bought, but I was never quite happy with the fit or safety of it. Plus my daughter out grew it very quickly.
In the end after lots of shopping around I found the Britax First class on a web site. I liked the colour choices and even though it is expensive I found that by shopping around I could find it alot cheaper.
DESCRIPTION
Well, it has deep, softly padded side wings for side impact protection, it's ideal if your child (like my daughter did) has out grown an infant carrier but is not as yet ready totravel facing forward.
The unique extended recline position works well with the newborn insert (a sort of foam wedge that is designed to make it a better and more comfortablt fit for new born babies)
It's compatible with a wide range of different car seat designs and has alternitve seat belt attachment routes. The slim design base gives a good secure fit to modern sculptured car seats.
From 9 months on (about 9kg) as long as your child can sit un aided you can change the seating position to forward facing. When in this position it can be adjusted to 5 different recline positions to enable your child to be comfortable whether they are sleeping or a wake.
The seat itself weighs approx 7.85kg.
The seat covers are removable so you can wash them and replacement/spare covers are avaliable from Britax by contacting their customer service helpline on, 01264 386034
You also get a lock off device to make sure the seat remains securely fitted.
You can buy them from a number of shops including Mothercare and Halfords, both of which offer a free fitting service.
I bought mine from a local shop for well under the rrp of £120, but I've also seen them on the kiddiecare site for £94.99.
I would have saved a fortune if I'd bought one of these in the first place rather than buying one that my daughter had out grown by the time she was 3 months old.
I know I've rated it as being suitable from 0-12 months but this seat is actually suitable from birth-4 years approx.
It might be expensive but is there really a price for your childs safety??
