***The Seat***
The Britax Horizon booster seat is universal in that it can be used for children ranging from 15-36kg (roughly 4-11 years of age) and although I do not know what this is in stones/pounds, I think the age guideline speaks for itself.
It is designed to be used in conjunction with the lap and diagonal seat belts already fitted in cars, therefore can be used either on the passenger seat or back seat. Safety Note: ... ...on this.

Now that my daughter is approaching 4 years and has finally outgrown her stage 2 car seat (0-4yrs approx), I thought it time to research the various stage 3 options available which are otherwise known as booster seats.
Having already worn the corners of the pages off flicking through my Index and Argos catalogues at the very limited range they both have to offer, I decided to get my behind off of my settee, leave the cuppa until later and take my search to Mothercare World and Toys’R’Us here in Harlow.
OK… so Mothercare World first. Unfortunately they only had stage 1 and 2 seats on display and not a booster seat in sight, which was very disappointing to say the least, but being that I really couldn’t be bothered to ask at the time and I got distracted by the toys and pretty clothes I was in and out of the shop empty handed within about 10 minutes.
But not to worry… Toys’R’Us were only at the other end of the car park and being a huge store with just about everything you can imagine surely they wouldn’t let me down?
After completing my entire Christmas shopping list in my head whilst en-route to the transportation aisle I breathed a sigh of relief on spotting booster seats on display, and plenty of them.
Despite only having two makes on display my choice was easily made by just 2 factors. The first being that I was ideally looking for a booster with an adjustable shoulder strap which helps stop the car’s main belt strangling the child and the second being my preferred make of Britax.
***The Seat*** The Britax Horizon booster seat is universal in that it can be used for children ranging from 15-36kg (roughly 4-11 years of age) and although I do not know what this is in stones/pounds, I think the age guideline speaks for itself.
It is designed to be used in conjunction with the lap and diagonal seat belts already fitted in cars, therefore can be used either on the passenger seat or back seat. Safety Note: This seat should not be used on seats where air bags are fitted.
The seat is made of plastic and has a soft material seat which is coloured in blue check and can be removed for washing. It has two small arm pieces to the rear whereby you tuck the seat belt under for correct safety and to the rear of the seat is a strap with the adjustable clip attached. You simply slide this up (behind your child) to the correct height of your child’s shoulder and attach it to the main seat belt in order to keep the belt from cutting into your child’s neck.
***The Price*** I paid £18.00 for the seat this week with a promotion offering £2.00 off, as it is normally priced at £20.00.
***My Experience*** My daughter is chuffed to pieces with her new seat and being that she can now sit back on the actual car seat itself rather than her ‘baby seat’ she feels like (in her words) a big girl… bless her.
Although you can buy cheaper booster seats from various shops, you will find that not all of them will have the adjustable strap clip. As my daughter is quite short (takes after her mum!) this was a necessity and had to be included in my choice as I had tried her on my nephew’s seat without this before buying one and the belt came across her face. So, although it seems you pay more for this clip to be included as there is little difference between the seats otherwise, it is there to serve a purpose and in my view, if it adds to the safety and comfort of your child whilst in the car, then you cannot put a price on this.

...to remain in his full britax car seat(club class)until well after his 5th birthday.I choose to use a full seat for as long as possible as I have seen safety reports which indicate that booster seats are not as safe for younger, lighter children,as in an accident they can (and do)slip forward taking the child with them. However my full seat was clearly getting too small and uncomfortable-not to mention my sons protests at having to sit in what he classed ... ...wanted to purchase a britax seat as it is a make I trust.I have also been impressed with the knowledge of their staff when I have contacted them by phone.I paid £12.99 for the seat from toys r us,as they had it on promotion. The seat was £20 in both Mothercare and John Lewis the only differance was the seat cover design.
The seat I have has a grey ridged plastic base with a grey check washable fabric cover, which I think looks very stylish. The seat ...

...that the fact it was Britax was a extra plus with me as I have been very happy with all the Britax products I have bought. (not once had a complaint)
The seat in itself looks like most booster seats a little seat with a fabric covered seating area. The fabric in this particular seats comes off for easy washing.. Also 2 "arms" on either side to hold in the seat belt. And then the adjuster strap. This looks like a piece of seatbelt with a little red ...

...car to find out, but Britax have been around since I was a baby, and my Britax seat saved me when someone crashed into my dad's car about 21 yrs ago. My cousin, now 18, had a similar seat when he was little too.

My son said the seat was a little hard on his bottom over long journeys, although he found the strap part comfortable enough. We have since covered the seat with the old cover and that is better, I'm told.
All in all, a good purchase from a reputable company. I would recommend this ...
