Well...where do I start? How about the beginning... I worked for British Airways for nearly two years, at Heathrow, Terminal One. My job was that of Customer Service Agent (CSA) and I checked in passengers and also boarded flights for both international and domestic flights. BA is a very good company. It has built it's reputation and sincerely deserves to be the British flag-carrier. I can honestly say that the customer service provided by BA is second to none. That old adage really is true, you certainly do get what you pay for. Okay, admittedly, BA does occassionally hit the press big time: ... more

They employ a lot of placement students and have done for several years so are really geared up to helping you get the most out of your time there. In terms of the work (I was in an IT support team along with another placement student), I was given plenty of responsibility and treated the same as the rest of the team, being sent on training courses and even taking my turn chairing the team meetings. My job also meant that I met just about everyone that worked in the department – about 200 people – and got to talk to many of them about what they did in their jobs, and I also managed to arrange ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too many things can go wrong and lack of proper training

Having worked in the customer relations side department for just over a year, I gained a great insight into what the company can do wrong and how they can get it right. Dealing with predominantly post travel issues, I found that the majority of problems for passengers were around luggage, in flight services such as entertainment or catering and customer service. There are many other issues such as rude staff, cancelled flights etc. British Airways does make mistakes, only because there are so many things that could go wrong. Think of a chain, if one link breaks the chain crashes. For a British ... more

GREAT AIRLINE!!! I've been flying with british airways now for about 4 years. In that time i've had nothing but second to none service, the staff are so nice and helpful. For some reason the media (especially BBC news) hate britih airways, if something happens within the airline industry the media are there right outside of BA's offices!!! But they have great lounges, great wines and champagnes on offer and all in all great service. They once lost my bags on a manchester - london - LA flight (this was not the fault of BA, it was the handling agents at manchester airport) but they couldn't do ... more

i think British Airways is absolutely fantasic! Their range of flights and planes are truly amazing, and the customer service they offer is truly outstanding. They offer many different services, including economy, business and first class. Even the economy class - which is the most popular, is up to scratch! Their in-plane service is great, and even though flying may be a little expensive, you get good value for money. The food is like any other aeroplane food and you are offered many times during the flight extra services such as cleansing wipes, extra drinks and various other facilities. The ... more
