Out after 10 Years
Advantages See the world & get paid
Disadvantages Life insurance goes up.
After 10 years of service i finally left. I'd had a lot of good times as well as quite a few bad ones. The thing I remember of the army is being cold, wet, hungry and fed up. No-one knew what was going on most of the time and your stuck in the middle of Germany, the most boring place on earth. Iraq was an experience as was bosnia and ireland. Lost a lot of good mates, was trained to be aggressive then nicked for being aggressive, got shot at, felt raw fear but got an ice-cream at the end of it.
Anyone thinking of joining? It's not an easy life and i was very lucky to come out of it with my wife and kids, most don't.
It's even harding coming out and re-joining 'The Public'.
