I have been an army wife for 6 months now and my husband has just gone to afghan which is really hard for us both we have just had a baby boy who was born 14thjuly 2007, it is a hard job being an army wife but i'm so proud to be one my husband is good at this job but he is quiting next year as we find it hard being apart.
people in the army don't get any thanks for what they do this country does not care which i think is wrong.
my husband went away for six months last year to Bosnia which was horrible but him being in afghan is much worse i'm so proud of him and i am proud to be his wife.
It is a hard job being an army wife sitting at home worrying all day wondering if my husband is safe and well wish i had more surpport from family and the army.

I did 22 years in the Army and was married for 16 of those years. Luckely i only did 2 tours in that time so it wasn't too hard on my wife. That said with young children it is hard and if you are in married quarters in the middle of nowhere without a car it can be unbearable and because of this a lot of forces marriages don't last. If i can give you some advice; try and get a good circle of friends, intigrate in to the civilian life around you such as the NCT, tots or other groups when you have your baby, and before. Keep yourself busy and i hope your husband has a safe tour of Afganistan and comes home soon.
