I am extremely satisfied with this telephone package and have found that it saves me an absolute fortune.
I decided to get a new mobile in April as I could never use the land line as my dear fiance was always on the internet, and using my pay as you go mobile was becoming expensive.
The range of tariffs and packages was extensive and I was totally unsure of which way to go when I noticed an advert in the newspaper for Your Choice 500. It is a home/mobile package where you get 500 free minutes of off peak calls split between your home phone and mobile, which must be split in blocks of 100 with at least 100/400 either way. This can be changed each month if necessary.
You can use your inclusive minutes for standard off-peak national and local inland calls from both your home and mobile phones and vodaphone calls fom your mobile. The calls made from your home phone are cheaper than BT during peak hours or after your free minutes are used up with 33% off of local calls and 62% of of national calls. Calls between your new mobile and home are also reduced by 15%. You can choose one international country where all your calls are reduced by 75% this seems quite substantial if you have relatives in Canada for example.
The hours for mobile off peak calls are weekdays 00.00-08.00 and 19.00-00.00 and all day Saturdays and Sundays. The home phone off peak hours are weekdays 00.00-08.00 and 18.00-00.00 and all days Saturdays and Sundays.
The package costs £12.99 a month but if you choose to pay by direct debit you can save an additional £6 per year (50p per month).BT Still charge you for line rental and any other calls made through them such as 1471*3 calls.
You get a Nokia 3330 with a free acessories kit comprising a hands free kit, a leather case, and an in car charger connected to Vodaphone. You also recieve a Saver socket, which is a devise that goes between your home phone and your BT socket, and routes the calls through British Gas. If you have more than one home phone you can choose to pay extra for additional saver sockets (£4.99 each)or simply dial 138 before the number you are dialling.

...I'd let you know about British Gas Communications who now provide me with low cost telephone calls whilst I still remain a BT customer. This is how it works.
This is the only bit of the tale I would rather not have to mention as I have a personal dislike to canvassers calling at my home address.
Sure enough I was at home when someone knocked on my front door.Upon opening the door I noticed a lady in a British Gas uniform. As I currently have both ... ...This is the deal..........
British Gas provided me with three little boxes(as I have three telephone points). Each box plugs into the telephone socket and then the BT socket plugs directly into the box.
The Boxes are smaller than the existing telephone sockets and can be easily hidden or attached to the wall.
From then on all calls made from those telephone points, although still going through the normal BT lines, are billed by British Gas.Therefore ...

Advantages: really cheap Disadvantages: the people told me about it on my doorstep
I have just joined british gas for my landline phone package and i am over the moon at how much money im am saving already.
With british gas you still keep the same number and everything but without great expense.
It is going to cost me twenty pounds a month which you can pay direct debit so it saves all the hassle of unexpected phone bills.
With this twenty pounds i am able to get free calls to landline phones anywhere in the uk all day and all ... ...a month so there is really no extra costs, except obviously if you are phoning mobile numbers or calling outside the uk.
It is really easy to sign up with british gas too recieve this great money saving offer.
I really highly reccomend that you try it today its great. ...

Advantages: Good network coverage Disadvantages: Very poor customer service, expensive, irregular billing
Telecommunications - the owner of the One.Tel and BritishGasCommunications brands. They offer potentially cheaper line rental and calls with my staff discount. The only thing that has stopped me changing is the fee for keeping my own number and the currently limited selection of handsets. Just in case you don't know both brands use the Vodaphone network so you won't be cashing in anymore.
A few other things that have got me annoyed during my loyal years?
1. Inability to provide a regular direct debit date. Almost every company I deal with allows me to set a fixed date (usually my pay day) for direct debit bill payment. You don't and worse than that the date changes every month making it difficult to budget.
2. I was given no advice about cheaper calling when travelling abroad. After returning from Spain this year with a £400 international calls ...
