I went for the top of the range British Gas Option 400. This included cover for 5 of my kitchen appliances. Do not waste your money with this service. Initially they fixed 2 items. Both of these took over 6 weeks to get the parts. One of the technicians was very helpful, the other one only moderately so. Several times the wrong technician or part was sent out. Each time, I would have to wait in for the 8 till 1 slot, and then be disappointed when they did not come..
British gas 'House' then canceled my policy without telling me. I've telephoned them 4 times, and each time they promise to call me back. Finally after 8 weeks, and 2 letters of complaint, they finally get back to me, and tell me they cannot fix my fridge, as they canceled the policy. Their customer service is appalling. How can they terminate a contract without letting the other party know?

Advantages: None that I can think of...oh..they have the word "British" in their name Disadvantages: Customer Service (lack of), Prices, Attitude...oh everything really
