I was looking for a Lexus IS200 sport, and after checking the various import broker sites Broadspeed was by far the cheapest. Others were quoting figures of £18k and £19k, but Broadspeed were £16k.
I should have smelled a rat, but frankly greed got the better of me. Out came the plastic and I placed an order. Then I waited
And waited
And waited
I emailed Broadspeed to find out what was going on, and they said to wait.
Then I got a quote. For £18k. This was from a Dutch dealer (I'd requested an order from a danish dealer).
I emailed Broadspeed. They said not to worry, I would be getting a quote from a Danish dealer. So I waited
And waited
And waited
Nothing arrived. After five weeks I asked for my fee back. This wasn't as simple as Broadspeed make out on their site - they said that they wanted written confirmation that I wouldn't place a private order via the dealer they'd introduced me to. I told them not to be so stupid, and that the reason I was cancelling was because they HADN'T introduced me to a dealer! A few days later my account was credited, and that was the end of the saga.
My Grandad always told me "If if looks too good to be true, it probably isn't true". I should have remembered those words of wisdom when I saw the incredibly cheap car on Broadspeed's site.
