Advantages: easy to read Disadvantages: I'm getting too old for it
...Enid Bliton wrote hundreds of books, many were of fairies and ‘forest folk’, but my book, Mallory Towers, is nothing like that.
These books are about Darrell Rivers and her friends, Sally, Mary-Lou etc. and all of their adventures (including running away, swimming the coast, dramatic rescues and much more) in their Boarding School by the sunny sea.
Darrell’s life has many problems, including, a hot temper (which even helps her to lose her place as 3rd year head girl), Gwendolyn (Mallory Tower’s Malfoy) and lastly some strange friends. She also has many good points, eg. a kind heart, a quick brain, a sense of adventure and trustworthy friends!
It is true this is a ‘Every-thing-all-right-in-the-end’ book, but it isn’t always easy to get there.
Many people believe Enid Bliton...

Advantages: Good plot, convincing charcters, not a difficult reaad Disadvantages: If you have never been to Exmoor, you may not appreciate setting completely
....
The book is about a young farmer boy called John Ridd. When his father died, he is brought home from school to care for his mother and 2 sisters, Annie and Lizzie. One day, whilst looking for some small fish for his mother in a nearby brook, he strays into the territory of the Doones, a clan notorious for it's crime and the pillaging of various villages. It is, in fact the Doones who killed John's father. Whilst on the Doones' land, he meets Lorna, a beautiful young girl and they instantly fall in love. He visits her several times and learns she is to be married to Carver Doone, a powerful man and the worst of all the Doones. After various other events, John rescues her and takes Lorna and her maid Gwenny to live with him and his sisters. Soon they find themselves up against the Doones again and fortunately they fight them back. Jeremy Stickles...

Runaways Review ofRunaways - Virginia Andrewsby

Advantages: Addictive, Good conclusion Disadvantages: Sometimes Predictable and unbelievable

Four books titled Butterfly, Crystal, Brooke and Raven. Runaway brings it to a rocky, tooth rotting and predictable yet required conclusion.
I would strongly recommend reading the four separate books before getting into this one as there are several references to the girls past and having a better understanding in the first place also enables you to enjoy the story more. Without getting into too much detail about what happened to the girls in the previous books I will try and tell you a little bit about them all.
Butterfly - Actual name is Janet but was soon dubbed Butterfly due to her delicate nature. She is a petite girl. Who despite being 17...
