Brook Street just are not... |
|---|
I have found myself in one of them situations where finding permanent work is becoming very difficult, have tempted before however I find it's always an option so I thought i would try my local branch of Brook Street in London N22, I had passed the window on numerous occasions and am well aware that the jobs displayed in the window are not always kosher.
I went in a was greeted by a front of office lady, I explained i would be going away in Sep for two weeks as I think it's better to let them know beforehand when you are available and she basically told me not to bother trying to regsiter until i returned in October as a CRB (paid for by the candidate) and refs etc would take ex amount of weeks. This was all done without anyone seeing my current CV and with the assumption that I would require a CRB at all.
Basically there atitude was you must be available to work for us at the drop of a hat, this is without guaranteeing that they would have work ready for me (us) at the drop of a hat.Don't bother, go to an agency that are ready to help you now and are willing to looks at your skills and experience.

Welcome to Ciao. Sorry to rate low but anyone thinking of using this agency will probably want to read more about it. If you add a little more detail about the company in general and perhaps add a little as to whether the branch you visited specialises in any particular fields of work (which might shed some light on the assumption about the CRB requirement) I would be happy re-read/re-rate.
