I've been out of work for just over two years but have been working as a volunteer for eight months in an admin role for a busy transport company. I decided to register online with Brook Street and awaited a call back from them .
They did call me but it took 6 days to get a call back. and the person I needed to speak to was busy so she called me back the following day only to tell me that after consultation with her manager they decided not to register me because I had not been in PAID employment for over two years. I felt deflated and let down as I have had vast admin experience (I'm 47) and also have a lot of suitable qualifications and would have been an asset I am certain. At least they bothered to get back in touch unlike some but I have managed to get registered with other agencies and one has offered me a job after vetting procedures have been done so it's not all that bad. Brook Street have probably missed out.
