We purchased the 1560 Brother fax based on other reviewer’s experiences. However we found this unit to have a major problem. As a business user we required a robust fax and answer phone.
The fax works very well and generally the machine is well laden with features. Now the problem. When the machine is set to Fax/Tel using the internal TAD, the answer phone take approx 5-6 second to cut in. This is a major problem as experience tells us that nearly all callers hang up as they think the line has gone dead. The delay is much too long.
On reporting this problem to Brother, they said the setting could not be changed stating the unit was primarily designed as a fax with the answer phone as an additional feature.
I’m now missing valuable calls and callers are not leaving messages. As a business this is unacceptable. We’ll be sending the unit back as this is a fundamental problem which is costing us lost revenue.
