Recently, brother have been re-designing their printers and their all in ones.
This HL4040CN, has just been re-designed and now looks better and works better. The design shape of this, is basically a big box. And it is big because this printer is for an high end personal use or for medium class office work. So therefore it has to be able to cope with a lot of work.
Even though this is a box shape, it still looks somewhat cool. Its panels of blue and silver do this and it does looks really modern.
From the front of the machine, a blue panel fold down. This is a 50 sheet multi purpose tray, and directly below this tray is another, this one holds a massive 250 sheets of paper, and this is the main paper feed for printing off documents. At the top of the printer is where the printed documents come out, this is easier to collect than them coming out of the bottom and just adds simplicity to the machine.
There are quite a lot of features available to do with this product, there are several buttons on the top left of the screen to navigate through the options and to choose what you want the printer to actually do.
There is a small screen on this printer, however its not a colour screen, just a screen like a calculator, but with different colour backlights. Two main features that have been updated on this model are a reprint automatically and a direct print.
Reprint automatically is a feature that lets you reprint the last document you were printing, this could save you a lot of time, especially in office situations and its great that the printer actually saves and remembers the last thing you printed.
Direct print, the second new feature, lets you print straight from a portable device, like a camera. There is a USB port built into the front of the printer and this button lets you print straight from anything plugged into that port.
This is actually a laser printer, this means it can usually gain better speeds than an inkjet printer and usually with better quality than an inkjet too. This printer can print 20 ppm of colour a4 paper, which is pretty quick. The only downside of this printer must be its cost. You'll be able to pick one of these up for around £320, so unless you are a small company, or have an home office then you probably wont be interested in one of these. However it is actually quite cheap compared to some of the office printers out there.
