Advantages: Good workhorse producing quality print at a reasonable price
Disadvantages: Newer models have seperate drum and toner so price for these parts tend to be high

...I have used Brother Laser printers in the course of work for some years now and can only say that they are great. The older models such as the Brother HL8E are fantastic work horses and just keep on going and going producing very good quality print at a very low cost per page. The newer models such as the HL-760 are also excellent however have one drawback when compared with the older models. The newer models have a toner and a seperate drum. The older models had the two things combined, yes the toner on the newer models is cheaper but when you need a drum and combine this with the toner the cost is much higher than with the combined older model. This aside I would still highly recommend these machines. They are easy to use, problems which are few and far between are easy to sort and you can contact Brother technical for advice... ...This review is of the cyan colour of ink which is the blue-ish colour cartridge you have to get for your printer. The actual name of this cartridge is the brother lc 600C, obviously then this only fits inside of brother printers and there is also a limit to what brother printers this one can actually go into. You can use this cartridge with any of brothers MFC 3100C, MFC 3200C, MFC 3200J, MFC 3220, MFC 3320, MFC 3420, MFC 3820, MFC 580, MFC 590, MFC 880, MFC 890, MFC 5100C, MFC 5100J, MFC 5200C, MFC 5200J. It also works with brothers 1800C fax machine too. The great thing about brother ink is not only is it great quality and can get you some great prints as well as some great quality photos with normal ink like this, but the best thing is how cheap it is. ...I have been a consumer of Brother toners for well over three years now, but my experience with them has not been nothing to write home about. Well, at least warrants a review here. Printing quality is good... mostly. It's the quality of the toner itself I have an issue about. I bought this toner cartridge only a few weeks ago and I did not do much printing in the last several weeks, but the toner decided to die on me this morning. After we changed the toner, I decided to open up the old toner and was amazed on how much toner powder streamed out into the bin. Let's just say that as soon as I can afford it will change my printer for a better one and for all I care, someone could the Brother laser printer for free.
