Arms returns in the ultimate WWII squad based shooter, set during the closing months of the war as you take part in the crucial Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands. The lowdown:Although there were many astonishing looking games at the recent E3 event this was for most people the most graphically amazing next gen game seen so far. The levels not only look near photorealistic but the game world is huge and almost completely interactive. The gameplay works in the same basic way as before, with an easy to use onscreen cursor enabling you to direct your men with a single button press. New movement types now exist though, allowing you to specify stealth or patrol postures depending on what youre doing and how fast you need to move. The only problem is the enemy have the same abilities and their artificial intelligence is advanced enough to make proper use of them. Most exciting moment:Not only are the enemy intelligent but theyre also well trained, reacting just as a real German soldier would. Theyll hide in doorways, ambush at road junctions and even, in one memorable encounter, hide behind a washing line where your only warning is from a Dutch civilian at a window above.Since you ask:Everything in the game is as realistic as possible with streets and house copied exactly from photos taken at the time, while all weapons and vehicles are modelled to work exactly as they did in real life. The bottom line:The most realistic WWII game ever in terms of history, tactics and graphics.HARRISONDENT

In my opinion this is the best world war 2 game ever to be made.
Graphics - The graphics are not the best to be displayed on the PS3 but they are outstnading - they really add to the experience. The buildings look real - the explosions look real - the particle effects are very good - the character models are excellent and everything generally looks realisitc from the sky to the grass.
Gameplay - its very good - the main character is easy to control - the button shceme is well thought up and the cover system is outstanding. In my opinion the cover system really takes this game to the next level - it is really easy to use and makes killing hundreds of enemies a lot easier. You even get to control a squad - which is really good and a great addition.
Enemies - The enemy AI is verry good - but there are times where the enemies just dont see you and just cant seem to pose any threat at times. The enemies are very fun to kill and there are loads of them.
Sound effects - its standard for moderm shooters but the sound effects are amazing and it really makes you feel like your part of a war. The guns sound great - the explosions sound great - the voice acting is good and generally everything sounds really good.
Story - the story is quite simple but it is actually really good - quite emotional at times aswell - what with the flashbacks your character receives - its actually really good and fun to follow. The story mode will take quite a long time to get through - took me about 8 hours - which is quite good. The game can be a real challenge at times especially on the hard mode.
Weapons - there are loads of weapons - all look great and come with plenty of ammo - which is really needed in this game. The guns are all powerful and you will soon choose a favourite.
Overall it is excellent - the best world war 2 game ever.
Advantages: Amazing Graphics - Amazing Gunfights - Amazing Sound effects Disadvantages: No cover system - Not the longest campaign
...This game is superb - one of the best world war games out there - but i still think that brothersinarmshellshighway is better.
The graphics are the best I have personally seen on the PS3 console - only slightly better than COD4. The environments are spectacular - whether your in a jungle or a town street - it looks awesome - as good as looking out of the window at the same environments. There was times where i would cease fire and just look at how spectacular the environments are.
The character models aren't the best I have seen - but they are very good - and like the rest of the game feels very lifelike. The guns look awesome - although the guns available are standard for the war games - they look awesome - they feel so powerful - and there is so much ammo around. I have to say the addition of the flamethrower is really good...
