Bud Lite pours a peely-wally, wishy-washy, practically colourless shade of pale, pale yellow with a very bubbly, but very temporary, white head leaving little lace.
The aroma is very clean...so clean it's unnoticeable. There may be some grainy tones, but I can't be certain. Nope, there's not a lot of olfactoral delights to describe. ... ...get back to it. This is a very light-bodied beer (since it's called Bud light, this revelation hardly caused me to fall off my chair), with a thin and fizzy mouthfeel. As for flavour, there isn't really any, but I suppose I better pad this review out with something.
It's very dry, and there's a crisp quality to it (bet you never thought you'd read the words 'quality' and 'Bud Light' in the same sentence, did you?). I can't detect anything ... more
I usually enthuse about most of the beers I review on this site. What can I say? I'm an easy guy to please. But I despair sometimes at how little effort it can take to please a great many people. A slick, clever advertising campaign with a multi-million dollar budget, some incessant marketing shoved in your face, and people seem to lap it up.
How else can you explain the fact that adjunct-laden, poor quality, virtually taste-free beers dominate sales? Perhaps hardly anyone actually likes beer but they like to be seen drinking it - hence all those horrible macro-brews that have as much in common with the German Reinheitsgebot, or the traditions of the Belgian Trappists, as North Korea has with democracy and freedom.
So, against my better judgement, I thought I'd give Anheuser-Busch the benefit of the doubt and see whether or not Bud Light is worth drinking.

A guy was sitting quietly reading his paper when his wife walked up behind him and whacked him on the head with a magazine.
"What was that for?" he asked.
"That was for the piece of paper in your pocket with the name Mary Lou written on it," she replied.
"Two weeks ago when I went to the races, Mary Lou was the name of one of the horses I bet on," he explained.
"Oh honey, I'm sorry," she said. "I should have known there was a good explanation."
Three days later he was watching a ballgame on TV when she walked up and hit him in the head again, this time with the iron skillet, which knocked him out cold. When he came to, he asked, "What the hell was that for?"

The taste is ...um... well, I'll get back to it. I can't detect anything that resembles a hop bite - or even a hop nip, and not so much a slight suggestion of malt, as a whispered rumour. There's a bit of grain and husk in there, and the finish is as dry as a bone. Aftertaste? I'm still looking for the taste to begin.
• The Verdict •
At 5% ABV, this is a pretty useless beer. I just don't get it - what's the point? It's not as if an ordinary Bud is all that great in the first place, why make one that's even worse? It's thin, watery and devoid of flavour. If it has a saving grace (and it hasn't) it could be argued that it's lower in calories than proper, grown-up's beer. But if calorific intake is a factor, don't drink beer. You know, the trouble with a drink like Bud Light is that it's so watery, you're liable to drink half-a-dozen of them before you get a hint of beery satisfaction. Why not sip on a couple of top-quality beers instead - a couple of bottles of Pilsner Urquell will have the same calories as three bottles of Bud Light...but 100 times the flavour.
In fact, not that I'm recommending them, but Rolling Rock and Sol only have about 15-20 more calories in a bottle than Bud Light. For goodness sake, a pint of Guinness only has around 75 kcal more than an equivalent amount of this stuff. Drinking Bud Light isn't going to make you any slimmer, take my word. Disappointed, unsatisfied - certainly. Slim? I don't think so.
Advantages: Inexpensive - at least in the U.S. Disadvantages: Watery, not very flavorful
. That is why Budweiser is not my beer of choice.
If it's hot outside, and you need something very light and watery on your tongue, Bud isn't half bad. However, if you want a tasty brew, Bud is not for you. How about that for a little poetic inspiration?
Budweiser, to me, seems a watered-down beer. Although I've never tasted it, I jokingly refer to it as "horse piss." It certainly isn't very satisfying.
Probably the best thing Bud has going for it now is that it comes in a red, white, and blue can (or has a red, white, and blue label on a bottle). It looks patriotic here in the U.S. That is a wonderful thing right now.........
However, I wouldn't recommend Budweiser to a serious beer fan. Give me a good hearty beer any day, and I'll be much happier. Since I'm not aware of many of the beer varieties available in the U ...

of the day starting to subside, The pressure of 8 hours of constant demands started to leave the confines of my body and I could feel relief start to wash me over like a welcome shower.
"Man, this Bud is good, Ill have another!"
Staring at my bottle I notice that Bud is brewed with rice as well as the usual stuff. "Is this why this lager tastes so refreshing?" I asked Neil, the font of all knowledge in the beer world.
"Yes that is the magic Bud touch, you have just experienced that Bud feeling of total refreshment and that is due to the rice, the temperature I keep them and the light brewing process that Budweiser put all their beer through." I remembered as he spouted that the bottle was ice cold and had a refreshing feel to it let alone taste.
It was then that I noticed that the regulars had started to pile into our little heaven ...

invented, thats over a hundred years ago and its still one of the top brands around. It was produced by a man called Eberhard Anheuser who owned the company at the time. In 1991 Budweiser was named the top selling beer in the world! quite an acheivement considering all the competetion. My favourite, Bud Ice was introduced in 1992 along with their BudweiserLight brand, Thank god for Budweiser. Not much of a history lesson I know but there ya go
Packaging
I love the packaging of Budweiser it is a very nice design. I know its the content that you people are interested in but your not going to buy a beer that has a brown label and spells crap on the side, are you!. The packaging of bud ice is simple, the bottle is like any other but at the top it forms some kind of Eagle shaped thingy that makes it more intriguing than any others ...
