Bennets renewed my motorcycle insurance even after I wrote to cancel after numerous conversations they agreed to refund ,only after I wrote to dvla for disposal proof but I only got £30 by cheque they said they would pay the remaining back to the credit card,I stated the account had closed but they insisted they would only pay back to the account from which it came otherwise they would be breaking the law,after totally contradicting themselves they were very rude and argumentative,eventually I wrote to the financial ombudsman 0845 080 1800 who are looking into my case as they still have my ... more

March 2008. Appalling customer service from their S. African call centre employees. Just wanted to add a new item to my home contents insurance. Incorrect documents were sent. Then I was passed from pillar to post when I tried to get it put right. Ended up phoning 5 times. The call centre employees were patronising and contradicted one another. The first said he could carry out my requested change to my policy and set up the direct debit but when the documents arrived they showed he hadn't made the change. Last year I took a home and contents insurance policy through the Post Office. The policy is managed by BISL Limited, who operate Budget and Bennetts insurance providers. I received my renewal letter last week, and it stated that a payment will be automatically taken from my credit card account unless I cancel the insurance. Dont touch this company. My dad took out house insurance with them, he was paying them monthly through his bank about 8months into the premium he cancelled due to finacial problems. He had payed them about £170 up to this point and not made any claims. He then started recieving letters from them saying he he had to pay a £82 cancellation fee. We contacted them they said it must be payed as its in the small print. My dad is a old age pensioner disabled and on benefits. They didnt care they said you ticked the box on the online application.
