Bennets renewed my motorcycle insurance even after I wrote to cancel after numerous conversations they agreed to refund ,only after I wrote to dvla for disposal proof but I only got £30 by cheque they said they would pay the remaining back to the credit card,I stated the account had closed but they insisted they would only pay back to the account from which it came otherwise they would be breaking the law,after totally contradicting themselves they were very rude and argumentative,eventually I wrote to the financial ombudsman 0845 080 1800 who are looking into my case as they still have my money & refuse to return my calls,they seem to be a very polished act by selling you the cover,but absolutely incompetent with customer support....
Advantages: Fine if you NEVER need to contact Customer Services or make a claim Disadvantages: Incompetent, unhelpful, patronising employees

re car insurance
parked car was hit by another vehicle ..The other vehicle insurance admitted total liability ...yet our our car after over 6 months is still not repaired!! our policy is fully comprehensive,.that not with standing the other party insurance are wanting to have the vehicle repaired .
BUT budget have messed around and delayed repairing the vehicle for so long that on the advice of the RAC advised getting the financial ombudsman involved .. the ombudsman is now involved .
It is likely the the car will not be repair for at least 12- to 18 .Who's fault will that be Budget in our opinion ... absolute rubbish ...

...by BISL Limited, who operate Budget and Bennetts insurance providers. I received my renewal letter last week, and it stated that a payment will be automatically taken from my credit card account unless I cancel the insurance.
I had never come across ths practice before and I considered it to be an unfair one, so I telephoned to inform BISL that I would not be renewing the policy.
The attitude of the service representative, Sarah, was very poor ... ...started talking very loudly and aggressively. I asked to speak to her supervisor and a man called Jeremy came on the line to tell me that they had plenty of other customers and that the practice of taking automatic payments was an FSA guideline. He concluded the conversation by telling me that the convresation was being recorded and getting me to state whether or not I would be renewing the policy. I told him that I would not be renewing.

Dont touch this company. My dad took out house insurance with them, he was paying them monthly through his bank about 8months into the premium he cancelled due to finacial problems. He had payed them about £170 up to this point and not made any claims. He then started recieving letters from them saying he he had to pay a £82 cancellation fee. We contacted them they said it must be payed as its in the small print. My dad is a old age pensioner disabled ... ...the box on the online application. They then started sending threatning letters from a debt collecting agency. They sent sent another letter yesterday saying the agency are calling at his house he is worried sick. They are bullies. Many other people on these sites I have since found out have had similar experiences. Staff are rude and very unhelpfull. ...

I think this is standard with most policies that I have. The flip side is, if you are busy/forgetfull etc, your policy will renew and you won't be left uninsured should you forget to renew.
If you are on top of things, then there's no problem to cancel, is there? ...

In September (sorry I lied to you earlier, it was not December - must have had a blonde moment) of last year, I got my renewal for my car insurance from the AA, guess what, it had gone up drastically. Now like everyone else, I find the average motorist is being hit hard enough with increases in tax and fuel without having to pay out over the top for car insurance. My renewal quote was for £467.00 this was for fully comp, curtesy car, protected no claims, legal cover and and excess of £100.00.
I know it's always best to shop around and that companies give better deals to new customers, so I decided to hit the keyboard and see what I could save by checking out prices on the internet.

Budget has a range of insurance products available. I will be concentrating on BudgetCar Insurance as they are the insurers I have at the minute.
When I bought my new car (a Porsche Boxster) I was worried about getting insurance as the car is group 17 and Im only 25. Although as a woman I thought I would get it a bit cheaper I found this wasn't the case.
I used various online search sites to find the best cover but found confused.com to be the best. After putting in all my details Budget came out second cheapest - the 1st was a name I didn't recognise so didn't go for that. After deciding on Budget I put my partner on (thinking it would sent it shooting up - man aged 27) It didn't, it brought it down by £100. I was amazed!

I told him i wanted to cancel the policy and was told it will cost me £30 to do so and had the check to say it was illegal to have another policy with another company while having one with them. Then to add insult to injury they wanted proof from me that i was insured with another company..surely its none of their business. Also they wanted a copy of my new policy with Budget which they claim was in the post...my insurance finished with them on 31 July so to date 9 Aug i have not received my policy with them (me thinks they have not put my door number down again)
its so appalling as they are quick to take your cash and whats worse they keep your credit card details on line so can just take the cash out. But when it comes to problems or sending information out they are slow and you get charged for their mistakes.
