Great media player

Advantages: Easy to use, shuffle mode is good, lots of space
Disadvantages: not the latest version (who cares it is cheaper!)

The Ipod Nano 8GB (3G) is an amazing music player. It is really small so you can just put in in a pocket. You control the Ipod Nano with a wheel type thing and this works really well once you have got used to it. The Ipod can hold loads of songs, videos, photos and even TV episodes and films! I would not suggest watching a long video on it mind you because the screen is quite small but I have never really tried this properly. I use my Ipod for all the music I have and just a few photos and videos as well. You can also buy other things for your Ipod through Itunes like videos, films, games, music (obviously) and can also get podcasts which are free. The Demon Media Player

Netac A200 1Gb Media Player

Advantages: Sound quality, FM radio and transmitter
Disadvantages: Photo ability, small memory

Netac are a fairly new name to the UK. Hailing from China, they have produced an interesting variation on the media player theme ready for the newly relaxed rules in the UK regarding FM transmitters. Until recently it was illegal to use devices that transmit FM such as iPod addons that allow you to pick up its output via your car FM radio. Netac have combined an MP3 player, FM radio, video player, eBook reader, photo album and recorder in to a tiny form factor not much bigger than a box of matches and then added in an FM transmitter for good measure. Setting it Up I was initially flummoxed by Netac's own instructions which advise a trip to their web site to download the drivers and software needed to use the A200.
