Buffalo's MiniStation TurboUSB Portable Hard Drive offers a compact, lightweight, shock resistant storage solution that fits in your pocket. Store, backup and transport digital images, music and other files without taking up room on your computer's main drive. With TurboUSB technology, MiniStation's transfer rates are up to 64% greater than those of standard 4200RPM portable hard drives.
Advantages: fast and portable Disadvantages: drains power
...The Buffalo Ministation TurboUSB 120GB is quite a small little storage device, hence the “ministation” in its name. Its size is great as its only 127 x 20 x 84 mm so it’ll hardly make a dent in your pocket. The 190 g weight on its also hardly anything and they have even managed to shed 20 g’s off this one compared to the previous 40 gb edition of this hard drive.
It works directly off power from a laptop or computer and runs therefore directly off usb without the need for plugging in another power cable to run the device. This can be a problem if you need more battery life on your laptop as it will drain it a little if its plugged in all the time. This drain isn’t much though and you’ll hardly even notice the difference if its only plugged in for a short while.
Its black plastic casing certainly...

Advantages: 750GB, 7200rpm, Hi-Speed USB, Very reliable & Easy To Use Disadvantages: None
...The Buffalo Drive StationTurboUSBHD-HS750U2 750 GB is a very useful external hard drive. I have networked computers so use it for back up and storage, which makes it easy for the networked computers to access the same data from one unit.
The unit itself is well designed and looks good, its basically just going to sit next to your computer and is just a shell for the hard drive inside and for that it looks quite cool. The dimensions of the unit is 1.8" (w), 6.4" (d), 7.9" (h) and it weighs around 1.5kg.
The external hard drive lets you back up and easily access various stored files and folders without taking up room on your PC's main hard drive. This is based on the SATA hard drive technology which is for larger capacity and with turboUSB technology, The hard drives transfer rate is much more than those of standard USB hard drives...

Advantages: Alternative Power Modes, USB2.0 Connection Disadvantages: Tendency To Heat Up Quickly
...And it is, pretty much. I bought this product simply because I ran out of hard drive space on my current PC. I needed somewhere to store all of my music and documents and the Buffalo 250GB Hard Drive was the perfect solution.
Whilst it isn't the most attractive looking unit, it is purely practical. It also comes with a USB2.0 Lead in the box (Which is a pleasant change from the norm!)
The alternative power supply options are a stroke of genius. You can either have the unit permanently on (Which is useful in the case of using the hard drive as Network attached storage through a PC) or "On when required" which is great for all of those who are concerned about conserving energy.
The setup disk is standard nowadays....Autorun, is the way forward. Next, Next, Next and your done. It automatically maps the drives on your system...
