In this game you Play as Buffy Summers, she is a vampire slayer who lives in Sunnydale. She appears to be a normal high school student with her day to day life at school and partying but really she is a Slayer. In each generation a girl is chosen to fight the forces of darkness and what other evil that comes along.
Her friends are:
Willow Rosenburg, she is Buffys best friend and is starting off a life as a witch. Willow restored Angel's soul after he lost it and has a great love for school and the use of computers.
Xander Harris, he is one of Buffys most loyal friends. He doesnt have any usual special abilities or anything but he provides the scooby gang with much needed humour. In the game Xander provides Buffy with some very useful weapons that you will need to pass certain levels.
Rupert Giles, he is Buffys Watcher and the high schools librarian. He provides information on Vampires and is the one who gives you new combos to use in the game.
Cordelia Chase, in the game she is Xander's girlfriend but mostly she just provides lots of sarcasm. Cordy like to speak her mind so expect a lot of the truth from her.
Angel, in the game it isnt too clear on whether Buffy and Angel are going out but their is a high chance that they are. He helps Buffy when she goes on patrol but less than a year before the time that this game is based he lost his soul after a night of passion with Buffy. Willow restored his soul later.
Spike, he is an evil vampire sired by Dru. He occasionally helps the scooby gang.
The Game is based in season three of the hit tv show.
It starts off with Giles taking Buffy out to train but upon the completion of the first lever you discover it was all a dream.
In the game Spike has returned to Sunnydale to bring the master vampire back from the dead. Angel gets possessed by the Master and Spike decides to help Buffy and her gang defeat him.
Buffy is the only character in the game whose voice over isnt done by the acctress who plays her in the tv show.
Other actors/actresses doing voice overs are:
Anthony Stewart Head, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, James Marsters and David Boreanaz.
The graphics for the game are good and the game is enjoyable. One thing i didnt like about the game is that it needs to load a lot. The game starts to get really good then all of a sudden it loads up another part.
The game can get difficult at some parts but that just gives you a challenge.
Another thing i didnt like was that sometimes it was hard to fight the vampires as you couldnt turn buffy around in time. Although a good feature with the ingame combat is that the game allows you to do fighting combos. You earn more combos as you progress through the game.
Buffy also has an inventory where you can store weapons and objects that you pick up.
One thing i didnt like about the game is that some of the scenes like the High School or Angels mansion didnt like that much similar compared to them in the tv show.
One thing that let me down was that there isnt really any special features. There is arenas but to unlock them you need to enter a cheat. The arena's are only in the game for debugging reasons when the game was being programmed. Programmers used the arena's to test out each character in the game to make sure they done combat properly.

A good review. I've played both Buffy and Buffy2 and agree with your comments completely.
